Turkish chocolate, Dubai-style bars, pistachio lokum and kadayıf for importers and wholesalers in Bulgaria
One mixed container from Gaziantep, Türkiye, into Bulgaria: pistachio and kadayıf bars, pistachio lokum, chocolate dragées, confectionery and pistachio spread — in bulk cartons for the на едро trade and in retail packs, on an A.TR movement certificate, with the label content prepared in Bulgarian.

One container, every line, from Gaziantep.
Bulgaria is a neighbour that already buys, and buys steadily. On the most recent full year it imported about four hundred and sixteen million dollars of chocolate and around seventy-three million dollars of sugar confectionery. In chocolate Türkiye was the eighth source at roughly three per cent, behind Germany, Poland, Romania and Italy. In sugar confectionery the position is much stronger: fourth source at about nine per cent, ahead of Hungary, Greece and China and just behind Poland, Ukraine and Germany.
The unit values say what kind of trade this is. Turkish chocolate arrives at around six dollars a kilo against nine or more from Germany, Poland and Italy, and Turkish confectionery at about three. This is not a premium shelf for us; it is a working one, and the argument here is range and proximity rather than price positioning.
Antep Foods is a manufacturer and exporter. We make the core range in our own factory and load several lines into one container.
We supply direct from our own factory in Gaziantep, the city we work in.
- Food importers and distributors that clear their own entries and supply grocery chains, ho.re.ca. and specialist shops across Bulgaria
- Захарни изделия wholesalers and cash-and-carry — the на едро trade supplying shops and kiosks — buying by the carton, including cartons for the насипни бонбони counter
- Importers of Turkish goods, a channel that exists here under its own name and already moves lokum, baklava, tahini and pistachio lines
- Ho.re.ca. and the сладкарница trade, for finished lines; couverture and ingredients for pastry work sit outside our standing range and are sourced on request
- Bulgarian brands and retailers that want the same products under their own name — the route is set out on the private label page
Six lines, mixed to your list.
Each line travels on its own pallet; the container is mixed. Outside the core range we source on request and load it in the same shipment.

What stays the same on every offer.
Rates and rules change; the quotation states what applies on the day. These points do not change.
- Entry and the trade agreement
- Bulgaria is in the EU and Türkiye is in the EU–Türkiye customs union, so processed confectionery under chapters 17 and 18 moves on an A.TR movement certificate rather than a free-trade origin proof. The offer states the tariff line and what applies on the day; we do not publish duty figures, because they change.
- The label is Bulgarian
- Packaged food sold in Bulgaria carries the mandatory particulars in Bulgarian, in Cyrillic, under the EU food information rules: the food name, the ingredient list with allergens emphasised, the nutrition declaration per 100 g, metric net quantity and the date of minimum durability. We prepare the content in Bulgarian from our technical data sheet; nothing is printed until you approve it in writing.
- Who the label names
- The name and EU address of the food business operator responsible for the information is the importer's, not ours. The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (БАБХ) supervises food safety and the Customs Agency handles the entry; the registrations sit with the party established in Bulgaria.
- Lokum is not an import category here
- This is the point that changes the whole pitch. Bulgaria makes its own локум — plain, and the rose version that belongs to the country's own rose-growing tradition — and sells it as a Bulgarian product. Arriving with «Turkish delight» as a novelty is arriving late. What the domestic product is not is pistachio-forward: whole-pistachio lokum, double-roasted pistachio delight and the kadayıf-filled lines are the part of the range that is genuinely not made here.
- Lokum is also a baking ingredient
- A specifically Bulgarian use, and it changes the format question. Баница с локум — banitsa made with lokum — is one of the larger food searches in the country. Lokum that goes into pastry is cut smaller and dusted differently from the lokum that goes in a gift box, and the dusting appears in the ingredient list. Tell us which use the line is for and the cut and dusting are set before the lot is run.
- What the shelf calls it
- Wholesale is на едро; the category is захарни изделия. Turkish delight is локум or рахат локум, a Dubai-style bar is дубайски шоколад, dragées are драже, a box of chocolates a бонбониера, and loose sweets sold by weight are насипни бонбони. The pastry trade is the сладкарница and it buys кувертюр.
- Much of the biggest demand is outside our range
- Worth saying plainly rather than letting a first enquiry discover it. The largest Bulgarian searches around our category are баклава, тахан, халва and шам фъстък — baklava, tahini, halva and pistachio nuts — and the baklava searches are overwhelmingly for recipes rather than for a supplier. None of those four are our standing range; they are sourced on request, with composition and format confirmed before quoting. What we carry is the finished confectionery around them.
- Dubai-style bars and pistachio
- Дубайски шоколад is a live search in Bulgaria and the domestic trade already sells a version of it. The bar we ship is made where the pistachio grows and the kadayıf is made, and the offer states the pistachio percentage and the coating per line. The jar we ship is a pistachio spread, not a confectioner's paste, however it is searched.
- Coating and what may be called chocolate
- A vegetable-fat coating cannot be labelled chocolate in the EU. We state per line whether it is chocolate or a compound coating, and the technical data sheet says so before anything is printed.
- Temperature and the season
- Chocolate and chocolate-coated lines are quoted in a refrigerated container through the warm months; plain lokum, sugared almonds and gelled sweets travel dry. A mixed load is planned with both regimes in mind and the offer states which applies to each range.
- Route and currency
- Bulgaria is a land neighbour: the usual route is road through the Kapıkule–Kapitan Andreevo crossing, which is the shortest transit of any market on this site. Sea freight to Burgas or Varna is the alternative. The incoterm and transit time are stated in the offer. Quotes are in US dollars unless you ask for euro; retail prices in Bulgaria are in leva.
- Halal and kosher
- Certificates are held for our factory; copies are available on request. We do not claim a certificate for a line it does not cover.
- Outside the range
- Кувертюр in callets and chocolate in bulk for the сладкарница trade, raw nuts, dried fruit, cocoa, empty packaging, baklava, halva and tahini are not our standing range. They are sourced on request; we confirm composition and format before quoting.
- Favours for wedding and christening guests
- Guests at Bulgarian weddings and christenings are sent home with a small favour, and the demand behind it is steady and year-round rather than seasonal. The line that fits is the dragée: sugared almonds and chocolate dragées in bulk cartons, sorted by colour and by calibre. We supply the carton that fills the favour, not the finished favour — the tulle, the box and the ribbon are assembled by the favour maker or the gift shop. Colours and calibres are confirmed per line before we quote, and the minimum is set per line, so a first order can carry three or four colours rather than one. The same carton serves the shop shelf in retail units, and both can travel in the same container.
Private label chocolate and confectionery for Bulgarian brands
The same lines under your own name, with the label content prepared in Bulgarian from our technical data sheet, and minimums stated per line.

Do you work with importers and wholesalers in Bulgaria?
We quote for food importers and distributors, захарни изделия wholesalers and cash-and-carry, importers running a Turkish-goods aisle, ho.re.ca. suppliers, and Bulgarian brands that want their own label. Send the references, the quantity per line and the delivery address; the written offer follows in two working days.
Do we need an A.TR or a EUR.1?
Bulgaria is in the EU, so processed confectionery moves on an A.TR movement certificate under the customs union rather than a EUR.1 origin proof. Your broker needs the tariff line and the basis on which preferential treatment is claimed; both are in the offer.
Why sell Turkish lokum to a country that makes its own?
We do not sell it as a novelty. Bulgaria makes plain and rose lokum and sells it as a Bulgarian product. What the domestic range does not cover is the pistachio end — whole-pistachio lokum, double-roasted pistachio delight, kadayıf-filled lines and the Dubai-style bar — and that is what a container from Gaziantep is for.
Can you supply lokum cut for baking?
Yes. Lokum for баница and other pastry is cut smaller and dusted differently from the gift-box product, and the dusting appears in the ingredient list. Tell us the use and the cube size the bakery works with, in millimetres, and the cut and dusting are set before the lot is run.
Do you supply baklava, tahini or halva?
Not as a standing range, and those are among the largest searches here, so it is worth being clear. They are sourced on request: we confirm composition and format before quoting, and the line then travels in the same container as the rest.
Is the pistachio jar a paste or a spread?
It is a spread. It is searched in Bulgarian as паста от шам фъстък and крем от шам фъстък, and we mention that because it is how buyers find it — but we correct the name on the offer and on the label, because a confectioner's paste and a spread are different products.
How long does the freight take?
Bulgaria is the shortest land route of any market on this site — road through the Kapıkule–Kapitan Andreevo crossing. The transit time and the incoterm are stated in the offer; we do not publish a standing figure, because it depends on the delivery term and the border on the day.
What is the minimum and how is it paid?
The unit of sale is a full container, mixed across as many lines as you want, and the minimum is set per line and stated in the offer. Payment is 50% with the order and 50% before the container leaves, against loading photographs taken with the doors open. Samples go before the container, from our current production.
Can you supply dragées for wedding and christening favours?
Yes, in bulk cartons sorted by colour and calibre — sugared almonds and chocolate dragées. We supply the carton, not the assembled favour: the tulle, box and ribbon are put together on your side. Tell us the colours and the calibre you work with and we confirm both before we quote; the minimum is set per line, so one order can carry several colours.
Is Antep Foods a chocolate manufacturer in Türkiye?
Yes. Antep Foods is a manufacturer and exporter in Gaziantep, exporting since 2002. Production takes place in our own factory; certificates and data sheets are issued for our factory. Wholesale only; prices come in a written offer, not on the site.
Send the list. We do the rest.
