Cases of chocolate, dragées and Turkish delight consolidated for one container in Gaziantep
Who we quote for

One container, every line, from Gaziantep.

We quote for food importers and distributors in Burundi, for wholesalers that move cartons rather than cases, for supermarkets and general traders buying direct, for the wedding and occasion trade, and for buyers who want a tablet, a dragée carton or a Turkish delight box under their own name. The unit of sale is one full container, mixed across as many lines as you like. We are a manufacturer and exporter in Gaziantep, Türkiye; the chocolate, dragée, Turkish delight and confectionery lines are made in our own factory in Gaziantep.

The honest starting point here is that the trade figures are borrowed. Burundi does not report its own imports to the international trade database, so everything below is read from the other direction: what the rest of the world recorded as exports to this market in 2024. On that view the chocolate column is small, about 110,056 US dollars for the year, with Türkiye fourth at roughly 5.3 per cent behind Belgium at 51.2, Uganda at 23.1 and Egypt at 17.4 per cent. The sugar confectionery column is the larger of the two by a wide margin, about 2,089,752 US dollars, and it is close to a single-source shelf: Kenya at roughly 90.2 per cent, then India at 5.9 and Egypt at 2.4, with Türkiye seventh at 0.14 per cent. Those are directions of travel, not settled totals, and the first note below says why.

The search side gives no help at all, and we would rather say that than dress it up. Measured against real local search data in both languages, the English set produced 192 phrases and not one of them cleared a twenty-a-month threshold; the French set produced 175 phrases and exactly one did — a consumer phrase about wedding guests, at 20 searches a month. Autocomplete filled the picture out without changing it: 10 seeds returned 100 suggestions in English, 8 seeds returned 64 in French, and the shape of them was consumer, not trade. There is no wholesale search channel in this market to win, so this page is not written to be found. It is written for a buyer who arrived by some other route and wants to know what the shelf actually looks like, what a container from Gaziantep would hold, and what is written down before any money moves.

We supply direct from our own factory in Gaziantep, the city we work in.

  • Food importers and distributors supplying supermarkets, groceries and regional wholesalers, and wanting one supplier for chocolate, dragées, Turkish delight and wrapped confectionery instead of four
  • Wholesalers and general traders buying by the carton for shops and kiosks, with case weight and lead time stated per line rather than agreed on the phone
  • The wedding and occasion trade buying sugared almonds and chocolate dragées by colour, favour cartons and printed gift boxes — the one search phrase that cleared our threshold in this market was a consumer one about wedding guests
  • Supermarkets and retail groups buying direct, who would rather have one order, one document set and one arrival than buy an already-imported shelf from the next hand along
  • Traders and brands wanting their own name on a tablet, a dragée doypack or a Turkish delight box, riding in the same container as lines in our standard packs

Burundi notes

What stays the same on every offer.

Rates and rules change; the quotation states what applies on the day. These points do not change.

What the mirror figures say — and what they do not
Burundi does not report its own import statistics to the international trade database. The only view available is the mirror: what every other country recorded as exports to this market in 2024, added together. That comes to about 110,056 US dollars of chocolate and about 2,089,752 US dollars of sugar confectionery. Read the ranking as a direction rather than a settled fact. A partner that reports late, partially or not at all moves every share in that table, and nobody outside the customs houses knows by how much. We publish the figures because they change what this page can honestly claim, not because they are exact.
Two columns that behave differently
On these figures the chocolate shelf and the sweet shelf are not one trade. Chocolate is small and mostly long-haul: Belgium first at roughly 51.2 per cent, Uganda at 23.1, Egypt at 17.4, Türkiye fourth at 5.3. Sugar confectionery is the larger column and it is regional almost to the exclusion of everything else — Kenya at roughly 90.2 per cent, India at 5.9, Egypt at 2.4, Türkiye seventh at 0.14. The two halves of one offer therefore answer different questions: on chocolate, whether a fourth source earns its paperwork; on sweets, what a second line is worth on a shelf already filled from one place.
A neighbour standing high in the chocolate column
A neighbouring country sitting second in a chocolate column rarely means a chocolate factory on the other side of the border. More often it means goods that crossed one border, cleared, and crossed a second — and every crossing is a margin and a handling step priced into what reaches your shelf. Mirror figures cannot prove that, and we do not present it as proven. What we can put on paper is the alternative: one consolidation in Gaziantep, one document set, so the number of hands between the factory and your warehouse becomes something you decide rather than inherit.
No coast: route, delivery terms and who declares
No sea leg ends in Burundi. The container leaves our factory in Gaziantep, loads at Mersin — about three hours away by road — crosses to a port in the region and continues overland. That last leg is what decides your landed cost, so the offer names it instead of leaving it to be discovered: port of discharge, delivery term, and the point at which our responsibility ends. FCA Gaziantep and FOB Mersin hand the goods over early; CIF ends at a coastal port that is not in your country; DAP is the term that names an inland destination. The transit movement between the port and the inland customs office is filed by your agent, and the importer holds the registration and files the consignment.
Temperature, and the part of the journey that is not at sea
For an inland destination the road leg is where chocolate is most exposed: a box that has been handled at a port and then driven inland spends its warmest hours off the ship. Chocolate and chocolate-coated lines are quoted in a reefer through the warm months; Turkish delight, dragées, jellies and wrapped candies travel dry. Both can share one container, and the offer states which lines are quoted on which basis rather than waiting for you to ask.
Label, in French
We prepare the mandatory information in French, with English alongside where your file or the shelf wants it: the name of the food, the ingredient list with allergens, metric net weight, storage conditions, the importer's name and address, and the date marking. For lines in our standard packs we confirm what the export pack already carries; for own-label lines the content is built from our technical data sheet and your artwork is checked before anything is printed. If your file requires a further language, tell us and it is prepared the same way.
Coating, and the word on the pack
A line coated in vegetable fat is named a compound or a glaze on the data sheet, on the pack and in the price list — never chocolate. That distinction matters more on this shelf than on most, because the reference product in the chocolate column is a long-haul branded one, and a buyer comparing a quote against it deserves to know which of the two things is being offered. In the European Union a vegetable-fat coating cannot be labelled as chocolate at all; we keep the two words apart wherever the pack is going, because a buyer who learns the difference at the shelf learns it too late.
Certificates and the papers per line
Certificates are issued for our factory, and we do not describe one we do not hold. With the offer you receive the technical data sheet per product, our certificates, the analysis report per line. Lines carrying ingredients of animal origin — gelatine in jellies above all — travel with our halal certificate, and the certifying body is named per line. The origin document that applies to your entry is named in the offer, stated as it stands on the day rather than guessed at on this page.
Currency and payment
Offers in US dollars. Bank transfer only: 50% with the order, 50% before the container leaves, against the loading photographs. The banking route that applies on the day is stated in the offer and settled in writing before production starts.
Sourced on request
The core range is chocolate, dragées, Turkish delight, wrapped confectionery and spreads in jars. Outside it — couverture, bulk chocolate by the kilo, raw nuts, dried fruit, cocoa, halva, tahini, baklava and empty packaging — items are sourced on request: we confirm composition and format before quoting, and a line that cannot be confirmed stays out of the offer. What is confirmed loads in the same container as the rest.

Private label chocolate and confectionery for Burundian brands

On a sweet shelf filled almost entirely from one regional source, an own-brand line is how a distributor stops selling the same carton as the shop next door. We put our own lines under your name: tablets, bars, dragées in doypacks, favour and gift boxes, Turkish delight boxes and spreads in jars, with the label content prepared in French and nothing printed before you approve it.

Questions

Asked before the first list.

Do you work with importers and wholesalers in Burundi?

We are open to quoting for food importers, distributors, wholesalers, general traders, the wedding and occasion trade and own-brand buyers. Send the product references, the quantities you have in mind and the inland delivery point; the written offer follows with price, case weight, lead time, delivery term.

How reliable are the import figures on this page?

They are mirror figures and we label them as such. Burundi does not report its own imports to the international trade database, so the 2024 totals — about 110,056 US dollars of chocolate and about 2,089,752 of sugar confectionery — are what the rest of the world recorded as exports here. A partner reporting late or partially moves every share in that table, so treat the ranking as a direction rather than a settled fact.

The chocolate column here is small. Is a full container realistic?

Only as a mixed one, which is how we sell in any case. A single container can carry chocolate, dragées, Turkish delight, wrapped confectionery and jars from our own factory on one order and one document set, so the chocolate lines do not have to fill the box on their own. We will not pretend a column of that size supports a standing monthly programme; what it supports is a planned load built around the seasons you sell into.

We are inland. Which delivery term actually reaches our warehouse?

DAP is the one that names an inland destination. CIF ends at a coastal port in another country, with the overland leg and its cost still ahead of you, while FCA Gaziantep and FOB Mersin hand over earlier and suit a buyer whose own forwarder controls the corridor. The offer names the port of discharge, the term and the point at which our responsibility ends, so the quotes you compare are like for like.

Which language does the label need, and who prepares it?

We prepare the mandatory content in French, with English alongside where your file or the shelf wants it, built from our technical data sheet. You place it in your artwork and add the importer's details; on own-label runs you approve the final version in writing before anything is printed. If your file requires a further language, it is prepared the same way.

Do you supply couverture, bulk chocolate by the kilo or raw nuts?

Not from our own range. Couverture, bulk chocolate by the kilo, raw nuts, dried fruit, cocoa, halva, tahini, baklava and empty packaging are sourced on request: we confirm composition and format before quoting, and we say so plainly rather than listing them as ours. Our pistachio products are finished chocolate, dragée and Turkish delight lines made in Gaziantep.

Is Antep Foods a chocolate manufacturer in Türkiye?

Yes. Antep Foods is a manufacturer and exporter in Gaziantep, exporting since 2002. Production takes place in our own factory; certificates and data sheets are issued for our factory. Wholesale only; prices come in a written offer, not on the site.
