Turkish confectionery, pistachio spread, Dubai-style bars and lokum for importers and wholesalers in Czechia
One mixed container from Gaziantep, Türkiye, into Czechia: pistachio spread in jars, pistachio and kadayıf bars, lokum, chocolate dragées and bulk jellies — in cartons for the velkoobchod and the cukrářské potřeby trade, and in retail packs, on an A.TR movement certificate, with the label content prepared in Czech.

One container, every line, from Gaziantep.
Czechia is one of the larger confectionery buyers in this part of Europe, and the two halves of its import map do not say the same thing. On the most recent full year it took about eight hundred and twelve million dollars of chocolate and roughly two hundred and thirteen million dollars of sugar confectionery. In chocolate Türkiye was the fifteenth source at under one per cent — a small share on a big number, well behind Germany, Poland and Belgium.
In sugar confectionery the position is completely different: Türkiye is the seventh source at about four and a half per cent, ahead of Belgium and Ireland and close behind China. That is a working trade with a proven route. Read together, the two tables point at the same first order — the confectionery lines carry the volume, and two or three chocolate lines the domestic shelf does not have carry the difference.
The other thing the measurement shows is narrower and more useful than either table. The single largest commercial demand we found in Czech search is the pistachio jar, and the market has already split the word in two: a hundred-per-cent pastry paste on one side and a sweetened spread on the other. Which of those a buyer means decides the label, the shelf and the customer — so it is worth settling before the first sample, and we settle it in the first line of the offer.
We supply direct from our own factory in Gaziantep, the city we work in.
- Food importers and distributors that clear their own entries and supply retail chains, ho.re.ca. and specialist shops, buying several lines on one packing list.
- Cukrovinky velkoobchod and cash-and-carry — the wholesale trade supplying shops and kiosks — buying by the carton, with bulk jellies, popping candy and dragées for the weighed counter.
- The cukrářské potřeby trade: the pastry-supply chains and web shops serving confectioners and home bakers. Part of our range fits them directly — pistachio spread, kadayıf, dragées and sugared almonds by colour and calibre, bulk lokum — and part does not: couverture, chocolate drops and chocolate by the weight are outside our standing range.
- Oriental and Turkish grocery, a channel that exists here under its own name in Prague, Brno and the larger towns, already moving lokum, dates and pistachio products.
- Czech brands and retailers that want the same products under their own name — the route is set out on the private label page.

What stays the same on every offer.
Rates and rules change; the quotation states what applies on the day. These points do not change.
- Entry and the trade agreement
- Czechia is in the EU and Türkiye is in the customs union with the EU, so processed food of Turkish origin moves on an A.TR movement certificate rather than a free-trade origin proof. The certificate travels with the shipment and the offer names it per line. Rates and lists change; the offer states what applies on the day, and we supply the documents behind it.
- The label is Czech
- What goes on the pack is decided by the company that first places the goods on the Czech market — that is the importer, not the exporter. We supply the ground for it: our technical data sheet per line, the ingredient list and allergens, net weight, and the customs tariff heading. Your labelling office or your own team writes the Czech text from that.
- Who the label names
- The address on the pack is yours, not ours. Certificates — food safety, halal and kosher — are held for our factory; copies are available on request. A line without a certificate is named as such.
- The two tables do not match
- Fifteenth in chocolate at under one per cent, seventh in sugar confectionery at about four and a half. The door into this market is the confectionery side — lokum, jellies and popping candy in bulk cartons for the weighed counter, dragées and sugared almonds by colour and calibre, chocolate-coated nuts and fruit centres. The chocolate side is entered with the lines the domestic shelf does not carry rather than with a plain tablet.
- Paste or spread — the biggest question here
- Czech search splits the pistachio jar into pistáciová pasta (hundred per cent, unsweetened, for pastry work) and pistáciový krém (sweetened, spreadable). They are sold to different buyers through different channels. What we supply is the spread. The hundred-per-cent pastry paste is not part of our standing range; it is sourced on request, and we confirm composition and format before quoting. We mention the searched name because that is how buyers find it, but the name is corrected in the offer and on the label.
- The pastry-supply trade, and its limits
- The cukrářské potřeby chains are one of the largest measured business channels in Czechia. Pistachio spread, kadayıf, dragées and sugared almonds in bulk cartons, filled bars and bulk lokum in two to three kilo inner units fit them. Couverture, chocolate drops, chocolate by the weight, raw nuts, dried fruit, cocoa and empty packaging do not; they are sourced on request or declined plainly.
- Dubai-style bars
- The bar is pistachio spread with crisp kadayıf in a coating, and domestic makers already sell their own versions here, so the category is not new to the Czech shelf. What is particular to Gaziantep is that both of the bar's main ingredients are made there, which is why the line is a current item in our production. The offer states the pistachio percentage per line and whether the coating is chocolate or a cocoa glaze.
- Coating and what may be called chocolate
- A vegetable-fat glaze may not be labelled chocolate in the EU. Some bars in this style carry a cocoa glaze and some carry real chocolate, and the difference is invisible in a photograph. We state which it is per line and the technical data sheet says so before anything goes to print.
- Wedding favours and the boxed assortment
- Guests at Czech weddings are sent home with a small favour, and svatební mandle and bonboniéra both carry steady, year-round demand. The line that fits is the dragée: sugared almonds and chocolate dragées in bulk cartons, sorted by colour and by calibre. We supply the carton that fills the favour, not the finished favour — the tulle, box and ribbon are assembled on your side. Colours and calibres are confirmed per line before we quote, and the minimum is per line.
- Baklava reads differently here
- Baklava is one of the largest food searches in Czech, but the Czech results present it mainly as a Greek dessert and mainly as a recipe. Both facts matter: the Turkish framing does not carry the search, and the demand behind it is home baking rather than buying. Baklava is in any case outside our standing range and is sourced on request, with composition and format confirmed before quoting.
- Chocolate glaze is a home-baking search
- Čokoládová poleva is one of the biggest terms in Czech food search, and almost all of it is home baking — glaze for Christmas cookies and gingerbread. A trade buyer looking for a coating material asks with a specification instead, and that material — couverture and chocolate drops — is outside our standing range. We mark it as such rather than quoting against a number that is not buyer demand.
- Temperature and the season
- Chocolate and chocolate-coated lines travel at +18/+20 °C. For a mixed container in the warm months we offer a reefer; if you prefer a dry container the temperature risk passes to you, in writing, before loading. Lokum, sugared almonds and jellies travel dry all year, so the offer states the regime per group rather than for the load as a whole.
- Route and currency
- Czechia is landlocked, so the load arrives by road, or by sea to a nearby port and onward by road. The routing is stated in the offer for the order in hand rather than promised in advance. Prices are quoted in US dollars; the domestic shelf price is yours to set in koruna.
- Halal and kosher
- We name the issuing body and the scheme per line, and the copy is available on request. The certificate is held for our factory. A line without one is named as such rather than covered by a general claim.
- Outside the range
- Couverture, chocolate drops, bulk chocolate by the weight, raw nuts, dried fruit, cocoa, empty packaging, baklava, halva and tahini sit outside our standing range. They are sourced on request: we take your specification to production, confirm composition and format, and come back with what can actually be supplied — or a clear no. Either answer comes in writing within two working days.
Private label chocolate and confectionery for Czech brands
The same lines under your own name, with the label content prepared in Czech from our technical data sheet, and minimums stated per line.
Private label for Czech brands →Asked before the first list.
Do you work with importers and wholesalers in Czechia?
Yes — food importers and distributors, cukrovinky wholesalers and cash-and-carry, the cukrářské potřeby trade, oriental and Turkish grocery, and Czech brands wanting their own label. Tell us which you are and the offer is built for that shelf.
Do we need an A.TR?
Czechia is in the EU and Türkiye is in the customs union with the EU, so processed food of Turkish origin moves on an A.TR movement certificate. It travels with the shipment and the offer names it per line; the offer also states what applies on the day, because lists and rates change.
Is the jar a pistachio paste or a pistachio cream?
A spread. Czech search splits it into pistáciová pasta and pistáciový krém and we mention both because that is how buyers find it — but the name is corrected in the offer and on the label. The hundred-per-cent unsweetened pastry paste is not part of our standing range and is sourced on request.
Where does Türkiye actually sit in Czech imports?
Fifteenth in chocolate at under one per cent, and seventh in sugar confectionery at about four and a half per cent. The confectionery side is the established one, which is why most first containers are built around it.
Can a cukrářské potřeby shop buy from you?
For part of the range, yes: pistachio spread, kadayıf, dragées and sugared almonds in bulk cartons by colour and calibre, filled bars and bulk lokum. Couverture, chocolate drops and chocolate by the weight are outside the standing range and are sourced on request, with composition and format confirmed before quoting.
Can you supply dragées for wedding favours?
Yes, in bulk cartons sorted by colour and calibre — sugared almonds and chocolate dragées. We supply the carton, not the assembled favour: the tulle, box and ribbon are put together on your side. The minimum is per line, so one order can carry several colours.
How does the load travel in summer?
Chocolate and chocolate-coated lines travel at +18/+20 °C. In the warm months we offer a reefer; with a dry container the temperature risk passes to the buyer, in writing, before loading. Lokum, sugared almonds and jellies travel dry all year.
What is the minimum and how is it paid?
The sales unit is a full container or trailer and we do not ship partial loads, but the minimum is counted per line, so one load can carry six or seven lines in modest quantities. Payment is half with the order and half before the container leaves, against loading photographs.
Is Antep Foods a chocolate manufacturer in Türkiye?
Yes. Antep Foods is a manufacturer and exporter in Gaziantep, exporting since 2002. Production takes place in our own factory; certificates and data sheets are issued for our factory. Wholesale only; prices come in a written offer, not on the site.
