Turkish chocolate, Dubai-style bars, lokum and pistachio for importers and wholesalers in Romania
One mixed container from Gaziantep, Türkiye, into Romania: pistachio and kadayıf bars, lokum, chocolate dragées, confectionery and pistachio spread. Romania is in the EU and Türkiye is in the EU–Türkiye customs union, so processed confectionery moves on an A.TR movement certificate and the label content is prepared to Regulation (EU) 1169/2011 in Romanian. Written offer in US dollars or euros within two working days of your list.

One container, every line, from Gaziantep.
Romania makes chocolate, and has for a long time. The factories at Bucharest and Braşov, the wafer and praline lines, the household names on the shelf — none of that is a gap anyone needs to fill, and nothing here is offered as a replacement for it. Türkiye is already a supplier to this market rather than a newcomer to it: on the most recent full year of trade figures it was the tenth largest source of Romania's chocolate imports and the sixth largest of its sugar confectionery, and in both cases at a unit value below the European average. That is the honest shape of the trade. Romania buys Turkish confectionery at the value and bulk end, and that is the end we quote for.
What comes out of Gaziantep is what the Romanian shelf does not cover from home: the Dubai-style bar built on pistachio and kadayıf, lokum in its own formats and by the bulk carton, chocolate dragées for repacking, and pistachio spread by the jar. Two Romanian habits are worth knowing before you write a list. Rahat is not only eaten as a sweet here — it is baked into cozonac, and the demand for it rises with the Christmas and Easter baking season, which changes what a bulk carton is for. And drajeuri on its own is a pharmacy word in Romanian; when we quote dragées for Romania we write drajeuri de ciocolată and say what is inside the coating.
We supply direct from our own factory in Gaziantep, the city we work in.
- Food importers and distributors that clear their own entries and supply retail, ho.re.ca. and specialist shops across Romania
- Confectionery wholesalers — the dulciuri angro and en gros trade — buying chocolate, dragées and wrapped sweets by the carton for shops, kiosks and market stalls
- Turkish and oriental grocery importers in Bucharest, Constanța, Cluj, Iași and Brașov already bringing in rahat, baclava and pistachio lines and looking to buy them nearer the producer
- Pastry and confectionery suppliers looking for pistachio paste and spread, kadayıf and coated nuts by the kilo
- Romanian brands and retail chains wanting chocolate, dragées or lokum made under their own name for the Romanian shelf
Six lines, mixed to your list.
Each line travels on its own pallet; the container is mixed. Outside the core range we source on request and load it in the same shipment.

What stays the same on every offer.
Rates and rules change; the quotation states what applies on the day. These points do not change.
- Entry and the trade agreement
- Romania is in the EU and Türkiye is in the EU–Türkiye customs union, so processed confectionery under chapters 17 and 18 moves on an A.TR movement certificate rather than a free-trade origin proof. The offer states the tariff line and what applies on the day; rates are not published on this site because they change.
- Label
- A Romanian label to Regulation (EU) 1169/2011: the ingredient list with allergens indicated, the nutrition declaration per 100 g, metric net quantity, the best-before date, and the name and address of the business placing the product on the market in the EU. Where a line is a compound coating rather than chocolate, EU rules do not allow it to be called chocolate; the offer says so per line and the name on the pack is checked before anything is printed.
- Naming
- On the Romanian shelf lokum is asked for as rahat or rahat turcesc, and rahat cu fistic for the pistachio filling; the pistachio jar is searched for as cremă de fistic and the industrial paste as pastă de fistic, and the offer distinguishes the two — what we ship in jars is a spread. Dubai-style bars are asked for as ciocolată Dubai, and kadayıf is known as kadaif. Dragées are written drajeuri de ciocolată, because drajeuri alone reads as a pharmacy product in Romanian.
- Route
- Sea freight from Mersin to Constanța across the Black Sea, or a road trailer from Gaziantep through Bulgaria. The port or border of arrival and the delivery term, FCA Gaziantep, FOB Mersin, CIF or DAP, are stated in the offer together with the transit. Road movements inside Romania are declared in the RO e-Transport system by the party responsible for the movement; the offer states which documents travel with the container so your carrier or broker can file what they need.
- Heat
- Chocolate and chocolate-coated products travel at +18/+20 °C. For a mixed container in the warm months we quote a reefer; if you prefer a dry container, the temperature risk goes to you in writing before loading. Lokum, sugared almonds and jellies travel dry all year.
- Certificates
- Held for our factory in Gaziantep: food-safety (FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, HACCP), Halal and Kosher certificates. The holder is named per line and copies are available on request; a line without a certificate is stated as such rather than covered by a general claim.
- Currency
- US dollars or euros, stated on the quotation, valid thirty days from its date unless it states otherwise. Prices are not quoted in lei.
- On request
- Couverture and chocolate for pastry work, bulk chocolate by the kilo, bulk pistachio filling, raw pistachios, baclava and halva are outside the core range. They are sourced on request; we confirm composition and format before quoting, and load them in the same container.
Private label chocolate and confectionery for Romanian brands
Looking for a producer to make a bar under your own name, or an own-brand range for the Romanian shelf? Romanian co-packers come first for a classic Romanian tablet, and for that they are the right answer. We are the other route: the pistachio and kadayıf end, made in Gaziantep under your name, with the label content prepared to EU rules in Romanian.
Private label for Romanian brands →Asked before the first list.
Do you work with importers and wholesalers in Romania?
We quote for food importers and distributors, confectionery wholesalers buying by the carton, Turkish and oriental grocery importers, pastry suppliers, and Romanian brands that want their own label. Send the product references, the quantities you have in mind and the port or border of arrival; the written offer follows within two working days.
Does the A.TR certificate cover a shipment to Romania?
Yes. Romania is in the EU and processed confectionery under chapters 17 and 18 moves inside the EU–Türkiye customs union on an A.TR movement certificate. The offer states which document travels with your container, together with the tariff line and the duty that applies on the day.
Who prepares the Romanian label?
We prepare the content from our technical data sheet to Regulation (EU) 1169/2011: ingredients with allergens indicated, the nutrition declaration per 100 g, metric net quantity, the best-before date, and the name and address of the business placing the product on the market. You place it in your artwork and approve the final version in writing.
Can you supply rahat in bulk for cozonac and for repacking?
Lokum is made in bulk cartons as well as in retail boxes, plain or with pistachio, walnut or hazelnut, and cut to the format you ask for. Bakers here use it inside cozonac and the demand runs with the Christmas and Easter season, so the cut and the coating matter more than the box; tell us what the filling has to survive and the offer states the format, the cut and the minimum per line.
What do you mean by drajeuri de ciocolată?
Sugar-coated almonds and chocolate dragées — a nut or a chocolate centre under a hard sugar shell — in bulk cartons and in doypacks, single colour or mixed, with the minimum counted per colour. We write drajeuri de ciocolată rather than drajeuri because the bare word is read as a pharmacy product in Romanian, and the offer names what is inside the coating.
Do you supply couverture or chocolate for pastry work?
Couverture, ciocolată menaj and bulk chocolate by the kilo sit outside the core range. They are sourced on request: we confirm the cocoa content, the format and the packing before quoting, and they load in the same container as the rest of your list.
What is the minimum order?
One full container, 20 ft or 40 ft, or one full trailer, mixed across as many lines as you like. We do not ship part loads. The minimum per line is stated in the offer.
Is Antep Foods a chocolate manufacturer in Türkiye?
Yes. Antep Foods is a manufacturer and exporter in Gaziantep, exporting since 2002. Production takes place in our own factory; certificates and data sheets are issued for our factory. Wholesale only; prices come in a written offer, not on the site.
Send the list. We do the rest.
