Cases of chocolate, dragées and Turkish delight consolidated for one container in Gaziantep
Who we quote for

One container, every line, from Gaziantep.

We quote for food importers, distributors and confectionery wholesalers buying for Somalia: chocolate, dragées, Turkish delight and wrapped sweets from Gaziantep, Türkiye, loaded as one full container mixed across as many lines as you like. The label content is prepared in Arabic and English, and the offer is written, in US dollars, with the case weight and the lead time stated per line.

This page starts from two tables rather than from a sales claim, because for this market the tables say something uncomfortable. In the 2024 mirror figures, chocolate arriving into Somalia is recorded at 4,413,949 US dollars, and Türkiye is the first source of it at 61.0 per cent, with India second at 29.0 per cent. Sugar confectionery — the jellies, the hard candy, the dragées, the toffees, the wrapped sweets — is recorded at 19,049,490 US dollars, more than four times the chocolate figure, and there Türkiye is sixth, at 2.6 per cent. So the line we are strongest on is the smaller of the two, and the bigger table is one where Turkish goods are barely present.

Everything on this site is made in Gaziantep, in our own factory. That is what lets one container carry several product groups, lets us check a lot before it is packed and photograph the pallets before the doors close. We say plainly what is made here and what is bought in for your list.

We supply direct from our own factory in Gaziantep, the city we work in.

  • Food importers and distributors buying chocolate and confectionery for the Somali market by the container and clearing it under national rules
  • Confectionery wholesalers that sell jellies, hard candy, dragées and wrapped sweets by the carton — the half of the table where Turkish goods are still a small share
  • Traders currently buying through a Gulf retail shelf or a European wholesaler and wanting to compare that with a container loaded at origin
  • Brands and wholesalers wanting their own name on the pack, in bags, cartons, boxes or jars, with the label content prepared in Arabic and English

Somalia notes

What stays the same on every offer.

Rates and rules change; the quotation states what applies on the day. These points do not change.

Two tables that point in opposite directions
Chocolate into Somalia is recorded at 4,413,949 US dollars for 2024, and Türkiye is the first source at 61.0 per cent, India second at 29.0 per cent. Sugar confectionery is recorded at 19,049,490 US dollars for the same year — more than four times as large — and there Türkiye is sixth, with 2.6 per cent. Both numbers are on this page because taken alone either one misleads: the first would say Turkish supply is already settled here, the second that it has hardly arrived.
Why these are mirror figures
Somalia does not report its own import statistics to the international trade database. The figures above are mirror data: they are what the exporting countries declared when they shipped to Somalia, added together. That means they describe what left for this market, not what cleared at the border, and goods that reach the market after passing through another country are recorded against that other country, not here. We put the year and the source of the figure on the page so you can weigh it yourself rather than take it as a count of the shelf.
Where the room is
On the chocolate line there is little share left to take and the argument is price, format and consistency of supply. On the sugar confectionery line the table is four times bigger and 97 per cent of it is supplied by someone else, so that is where a new Turkish supplier has something to add: jellies, hard candy, toffees, dragées and coated nuts in bulk cartons, kilo bags and doypacks. A first container usually carries both, with the confectionery half sized to test the shelf.
Search is not the channel here
We measured it before writing this page. In Arabic, searching from this market for these products clears the twenty-a-month threshold on only three phrases across five years of records. In English the volume runs at roughly 720 a month and most of it is the filled Dubai-style bar rather than a buying enquiry. So we are not going to claim this page is how you found us or how your competitors are found. The decision here is made from the table, from a sample and from a written offer.
The step the container removes
Search in Arabic for these products today and the results are online retail shelves in the Gulf. Search in English and the results are trade-statistics sites — people looking at this market from outside — plus Turkish exporters. Search in French and the results are wholesalers in France and Spain. In other words the goods on offer reach a buyer here through a retail window in the Gulf or a wholesale shelf in Europe. A container loaded in Gaziantep removes one of those steps, and the offer shows the cost of doing so instead of assuming it.
Label
We prepare the mandatory information in Arabic with English alongside: the name of the food, the ingredient list with allergens, metric net weight, storage, the importer’s name and address, and the date marking. For lines in our standard packs we confirm what the export pack already carries; for own-brand lines we build the content from our technical data sheet and check your artwork before anything is printed.
Entry and documents
There is no preferential origin document on this lane; entry runs under national rules. The origin document and the rules that apply are named in the offer, and the offer states what applies on the day, so the landed cost is known before you order. Nothing about duty is printed on this site, because it changes. From our side you receive the technical data sheet per product, our certificates and the analysis report per line.
Halal
Lines with ingredients of animal origin — gelatine in jellies above all — travel with our halal certificate, and the offer names the certifying body per line so you can check that it is recognised by your buyer before ordering. Lines that contain no such ingredients are stated as such on the data sheet.
Route and heat
The goods leave Gaziantep by road for Mersin, about three hours away, and go by sea from there to the discharge port you name; the transshipment port, the delivery term — FCA Gaziantep, FOB Mersin, CIF or DAP — and the transit are stated in the offer. Chocolate and chocolate-coated lines are quoted in a reefer on this lane; Turkish delight, sugared almonds, hard candy and jellies travel dry, and both can sit in one container. Where a line is a compound or a glaze rather than chocolate, the offer and the label say so in those words, because the two are not interchangeable.
Currency and payment
Offers in US dollars. Bank transfer only: 50% with the order, 50% before the container leaves, against the loading photographs. The offer states the banking route that applies on the day.

Private label chocolate and confectionery for brands selling into Somalia

The sugar confectionery table here is four times the chocolate table and Turkish goods hold 2.6 per cent of it — which is where an own-brand bag of jellies, dragées or wrapped candy has the most room. We put our own lines under your name, with the label content prepared in Arabic and English and nothing printed before you approve it.

Questions

Asked before the first list.

Do you work with importers buying for Somalia?

We quote for food importers, distributors, confectionery wholesalers and own-brand buyers. Send the product references, the quantities you have in mind and the discharge port; the written offer follows within two working days, in US dollars, with case weight and lead time per line.

If Türkiye is already the first source of chocolate here, what is left to sell?

The chocolate table is the smaller one: 4,413,949 US dollars in 2024, with Türkiye at 61.0 per cent. The sugar confectionery table next to it is 19,049,490 US dollars and Türkiye holds 2.6 per cent of it. The room is on the confectionery side — jellies, hard candy, toffees, dragées and coated nuts — and that is what we would weight a first container towards.

Where do those figures come from?

They are mirror data for 2024: Somalia does not report its own import statistics to the international trade database, so the figures are what the exporting countries declared when shipping here. They describe what left for this market rather than what cleared at the border, and goods routed through another country are counted against that country. We state the year and the basis rather than presenting them as a shelf count.

Which language does the label need?

We prepare the content in Arabic with English alongside, from our technical data sheet. The importer’s name and address and the date marking are part of it, and for own-brand lines your artwork is checked against the content before printing.

Is the container a reefer?

Chocolate and chocolate-coated lines are quoted in a reefer on this lane. Turkish delight, sugared almonds, hard candy and jellies travel dry, and both groups can travel in one container.

Can you supply items that are not in your range?

Couverture, bulk chocolate by the kilo, raw nuts, dried fruit, cocoa, empty packaging, baklava, halva and tahini are sourced on request; we confirm composition and format before quoting, and the offer says which lines are made in our factory and which are sourced for your list.

Is Antep Foods a chocolate manufacturer in Türkiye?

Yes. Antep Foods is a manufacturer and exporter in Gaziantep, exporting since 2002. Production takes place in our own factory; certificates and data sheets are issued for our factory. Wholesale only; prices come in a written offer, not on the site.
