- Pre-export conformity and the standards check
- Uganda asks for a certificate of conformity issued before shipment by the inspection agency appointed for Türkiye, and checks imported food against the Ugandan standard on arrival. The importer holds the import clearance; we arrange the pre-export inspection with the agency, and the offer states what the inspection needs per line and what it costs, so nothing is loaded that cannot clear.
- Label
- An English label: the name of the food, the ingredient list with allergens, metric net weight, storage, the production and expiry dates and the name and address of the importer. For lines in our standard packs we confirm what the export pack carries; for private label we prepare the label content and check your artwork against it before anything is printed.
- Customs and the inland leg
- Uganda applies the East African common external tariff and there is no free trade agreement between Uganda and Türkiye; the offer states the tariff line for each product and the duty that applies on the day. The container clears at Mombasa or Dar es Salaam and travels inland to Kampala by road or rail under transit; the offer states the route, the delivery term and where the reefer chain ends, so the landed cost at Kampala is known before you order.
- The supermarket shelf and the duka shelf
- Uganda has two shelves. The supermarkets in Kampala have chillers and take chocolate: the tablet, the boxed assortment, the pistachio end and the Dubai style bar in our standard packs, in a reefer to the port and a cool chain inland. The duka and the kiosk have no cooling and take the wafer, the wrapped bar, the compound-coated line and wrapped sweets by the kilo bag, dry. The offer states which lines are which, and one container carries both shelves on their own pallets.
