The chain
A shop, a market stall, a supermarket or a provincial distributor buys chocolate and sweets by the carton from a wholesaler in Freetown; the wholesaler buys by the pallet from an importer, or imports for itself; the importer brings the container into the Freetown port and clears it with the permit and the standards check. That is the link we quote: a food importer or a wholesale house filling one mixed container from Gaziantep, each line on its own pallet.
Two shelves
The shop and the market stall have no cooling and take the wafer, the wrapped bar, the compound-coated line and wrapped sweets by the kilo bag, dry; the supermarkets of Freetown have chillers and take chocolate: the tablet, the boxed assortment, the pistachio end and the Dubai style bar under a Turkish brand, in a reefer. The offer states which lines are which, and the chocolate or compound article goes through the difference; one container carries both shelves on their own pallets.
A small market, a mixed container
A container is a large unit for a market this size, and that is the reason the container is mixed: five product groups on one order, each on its own pallet, so an importer does not have to move a full load of one line, and the shop, the supermarket and the provinces share one order. The chocolate page, the confectionery page and the Turkish delight page list each group, and most lines are available in our standard packs from the first container.
Price, and what is not printed here
Chocolate price in Sierra Leone is a shopper’s search; the trade’s answer is in the offer, not on this site: the price per line in US dollars, the case count, the pallet plan, the tariff line and the duty that applies on the day under the West African tariff. Nothing that changes with the exchange rate or the season is printed on a page, so a wholesaler is never quoting from a number that has since moved.
Who fills the container
The unit of sale is one full container. A Freetown wholesaler or a provincial distributor that moves pallets fills one on its own and is quoted like an importer, with the permit and the registration on its side; a smaller reseller buys by the carton from the wholesaler that does. A group of resellers that pools an order is quoted like an importer too, each buyer’s cartons on their own pallets. The mixed-container page explains how the load is built.
What to send first
The lines from the chocolate page, the confectionery page and the Turkish delight page, the quantity per line, and whether any line carries your own brand. The written offer follows within two working days, in US dollars; the samples page explains how to taste the lines first, and the Sierra Leone page lists what stays the same on every offer.
Can a shop or a stall buy directly from Türkiye?
The unit of sale is one full container. A shop buys by the carton from the wholesaler that imports it; a group that pools a container and holds the permit is quoted like an importer.
Do you sell compound-coated lines?
Yes, and the offer says so per line, so the shop shelf gets a line that tolerates the heat and the supermarket chiller gets chocolate in a reefer.
Is the container a reefer?
For chocolate lines, yes, year round on this route. Compound lines and dry lines are quoted as the offer states.
