The chain
A duka, a supermarket, a kiosk in Arusha or a shop in Stone Town buys chocolate and sweets by the carton from a wholesaler in Kariakoo or from a regional distributor; the wholesaler buys by the pallet from an importer, or imports for itself; the importer brings the container into Dar es Salaam with the certificate of conformity. That is the link we quote: a food importer or a wholesale house filling one mixed container from Gaziantep, each line on its own pallet, with the registration and the inspection settled before the deposit.
Chocolate or compound
Most Tanzanian shelves have no cooling, and a bar that melts on the duka shelf is not a bar. Turkish confectionery already sells in Tanzania on price and on tolerance to heat: the wafer, the wrapped bar, the compound-coated line that stands up to the afternoon. The offer states per line whether it is chocolate or compound, so an importer puts the right line on the duka shelf and the right line, in a reefer, on the supermarket and hotel shelf. The chocolate page and the chocolate or compound article go through the difference.
What the Tanzanian shelf wants from Türkiye
The everyday shelf wants the wafer, the wrapped bar and wrapped sweets by the kilo bag; the supermarket wants the tablet and the boxed assortment under a Turkish brand; the hotels and the gift shops of Zanzibar want the pistachio tablet, the Dubai style bar and boxed Turkish delight. The confectionery page and the Turkish delight page list the groups; a container carries all three shelves on their own pallets.
Price, and what is not printed here
Chocolate price in Tanzania is a shopper’s search; the trade’s answer is in the offer: the price per line in US dollars, the case count, the pallet plan, the tariff line and the duty that applies on the day under the East African tariff, with the inspection cost stated. Nothing that changes with the exchange rate or the season is printed on this site, so a wholesaler is never quoting from a number that has since moved.
Who fills the container
The unit of sale is one full container. A Kariakoo wholesaler or a regional distributor that moves pallets fills one on its own and is quoted like an importer, with the registration and the import permit on its side; a smaller reseller buys by the carton from the wholesaler that does. A group of resellers that pools an order is quoted like an importer too, each buyer’s cartons on their own pallets. The mixed-container page explains how the load is built.
What to send first
The lines from the chocolate page, the confectionery page and the Turkish delight page, the quantity per line, and whether any line carries your own brand. The written offer follows within two working days, in US dollars and the inspection stated; the samples page explains how to taste the lines first, and the Tanzania page lists what stays the same on every offer.
Every line here is made in our own factory at Başpınar OSB, Gaziantep — a 10,000 m² site, exporting since 2002 — and certificate copies are available on request.
Can a duka or a kiosk buy directly from Türkiye?
The unit of sale is one full container. A duka buys by the carton from the wholesaler that imports it; a group that pools a container and holds the registration is quoted like an importer.
Do you sell compound-coated lines?
Yes, and the offer says so per line, so the duka shelf gets a line that tolerates the heat and the supermarket shelf gets chocolate in a reefer.
Is the container a reefer?
For chocolate lines, yes, year round on this route. Compound lines and dry lines are quoted as the offer states.
