Importing chocolate from Türkiye to the Philippines: the registration and what we send

An importer wants to know what to hold and what the supplier must send before a container clears at Manila. Here is the split, with the registration first, because it comes first.

Home  /  Blog  /  Importing into the Philippines  ·

Who holds what

The importer holds a licence to operate from the Philippine food and drug authority and registers each product before it is sold, with the registration on the label. As the Turkish producer we do not register ourselves; we supply the documents the importer’s application needs and authorises the importer for its products. The offer states what applies on the day, because the details change.

What comes from our factory

The free sale certificate from the Turkish authority, the certificate of analysis for the product, the authorisation letter from us to the importer, the technical data sheet with ingredients, allergens, shelf life and storage, and the label content. Copies of our food-safety and halal certificates are available on request. All of it is named per line in the offer and sent before the deposit, because the registration runs on the importer’s side and is not counted in the lead time.

The label

An English label with the name of the food, the ingredient list with allergens, the nutrition facts, metric net quantity, storage, best-before wording and the importer’s name, address and registration. For lines in our standard packs we confirm what the export pack carries and what the importer adds as a sticker; for private label we prepare the content and leave the space for the registration. The Philippine private label page goes through it.

Customs, documents, the route and the reefer

There is no free trade agreement between the Philippines and Türkiye; the offer states the tariff line for each product and what applies on the day, and nothing about duty is printed on this site. The commercial document set is the invoice, packing list per pallet, certificate of origin, analysis report and, for pistachio lines, an aflatoxin certificate, listed on the how we work page. Sea freight from Mersin to Manila or Cebu crosses the tropics in every season, so chocolate lines are quoted in a reefer year round; dry lines travel dry. Each line has its own pallet; the mixed-container page explains how the load is built.

The timeline

Registration first, then the deposit, then production, then the reefer. An importer that orders before the registration is through ties up a deposit; one that registers first orders with the registration in hand and the label already printed. An importer that has registered our lines once registers the next lines faster, because the authorisation and the free sale certificate are already on file. The Philippines page lists what stays the same on every offer.

Asking for a price

A first message is short: references from the product pages, quantities, port. The offer that comes back is not — it carries the specification, the pallet plan and the minimum, line by line.

Samples are free from our running production and the courier is paid before dispatch. The philippines: what stays the same on every offer page lists what stays the same on every offer, and the private label page covers putting your own name on the pack.

Does the Turkish producer register with the Philippine authority?

No. The importer holds the licence to operate and registers each product; we supply the free sale certificate, the certificate of analysis, the authorisation letter and the data sheet, named per line.

When are the documents sent?

Before the deposit, so the registration runs first; it is not counted in the lead time.

Is the container a reefer?

For chocolate lines, yes, year round on this route. Dry lines travel dry; a mixed load is quoted as the offer states.

How to order

Send the list. We do the rest.

Send your product list with approximate quantities and the destination port. You get one offer covering every line, then one container, loaded and photographed before the doors close.
