Cases of chocolate, dragées and Turkish delight consolidated for one container in Gaziantep
Who we quote for

One container, every line, from Gaziantep.

Comoros is a small shelf with a settled habit. In 2023 the islands imported 498,379 dollars of chocolate and 958,831 dollars of sugar confectionery, the two lines together staying under a million and a half; and on the chocolate side Türkiye was already the first source at 28.7%, ahead of the United Arab Emirates at 21.4%. Turkish chocolate is therefore not something a buyer here has to be talked into. On sugar confectionery Türkiye sat seventh with 2.5%, on a bill almost twice the size of the chocolate one. That is the line with room in it, and it loads into the same container as the chocolate.

We quote for the importers and distributors that supply the shops on Grande Comore, Anjouan and Mohéli, for the wholesalers and general traders that sell chocolate, wrapped sweets and dragées by the carton, for the wedding and holiday trade that buys sugared almonds, chocolate dragées and gift boxes in quantity, and for traders that want a line made under their own name. The unit of sale is one full container, mixed across as many lines as you like.

Everything on this site is made in Gaziantep, in our own factory. That is what lets one container carry five product groups, and lets us check a lot before it is packed and photograph the pallets before the doors close. Every line is specified in the offer. On an island shelf this size the useful question is rarely how deep one line goes; it is how many lines the same box can carry, and how often the box comes back.

We supply direct from our own factory in Gaziantep, the city we work in.

  • Food importers and distributors supplying groceries, supermarkets and the island trade from Moroni, Mutsamudu and Fomboni
  • Wholesalers and general traders that sell chocolate, wrapped sweets, jellies and dragées by the carton to shops and kiosks
  • The wedding and holiday trade buying sugared almonds, chocolate dragées and gift boxes for trays and favours
  • Traders and shops wanting their own name on a tablet, a dragée carton or a Turkish delight box, riding in the same container as lines in our standard packs

Comoros notes

What stays the same on every offer.

Rates and rules change; the quotation states what applies on the day. These points do not change.

Chocolate: Türkiye is already the first source
In 2023 chocolate imports into Comoros came to 498,379 dollars, and Türkiye was the first source with 28.7%, ahead of the United Arab Emirates with 21.4%. The recognition is there; what a buyer normally wants next is a steadier rhythm and a wider spread of lines out of the same origin, rather than a new taste to introduce.
Confectionery: the line with room in it
Sugar confectionery was the larger bill in 2023 at 958,831 dollars, almost twice the chocolate one, and Türkiye sat seventh with 2.5%. Wrapped candies, jellies, dragées and coated nuts come from the same factory and load onto the same pallets, so adding them costs a line on the packing list rather than a second shipment.
What the buyer sees before us
Searched in Arabic, the shelf that comes up is mostly the online retail window of the Gulf; searched in French, it is the wholesale shelves of France and Spain and a European B2B marketplace; searched in English, it is trade-statistics sites rather than suppliers. All of those sit one step downstream of the factory. A container loaded in Gaziantep removes that step: the lot is checked before packing, and the pallets are photographed before the doors close.
One container for a shelf this size
The unit of sale is one full container, and on a market of this scale that container is a visible share of the year. So the mix is the point: five product groups, many lines, case weight stated per line in the offer, rather than pallets of a single reference that then sit. Tell us the shops you serve and we build the list around them.
Route and terms
Gaziantep to Mersin is about three hours by road; from Mersin the cargo goes by sea. The call is not a direct one, so the offer names the transshipment port, the port of discharge, Moroni or Mutsamudu as your file requires, the delivery term, FCA Gaziantep, FOB Mersin, CIF or DAP, and the transit. Chocolate and chocolate-coated lines are quoted in a reefer for the warm months and for a tropical discharge; Turkish delight, sugared almonds, jellies and wrapped candies travel dry, and both can be loaded in the same container.
Origin document and duty
No preferential framework is assumed on this route. The origin document and the rules that apply are named in the offer for each product, and they travel with the document set, so your broker files against papers that were agreed before loading. Nothing about duty is printed on this site because it changes; the offer states the tariff line and what applies on the day, so the landed cost is known before you order.
Label
The mandatory information in French or Arabic, as the importer’s file requires, with the other language alongside where the shelf wants it: the name of the food, the ingredient list with allergens, metric net weight, storage, the importer’s name and address, and the date marking. For lines in our standard packs we confirm what the export pack already carries; for own-brand lines we prepare the label content in both languages from our technical data sheet and check your artwork before anything is printed.
Halal and the papers per line
Lines with ingredients of animal origin, gelatine in jellies above all, travel with our halal certificate, and the offer names the certifying body per line so you can check that it is recognised before ordering. Lines without such ingredients are stated as such on the data sheet. With every offer you receive the technical data sheet per product, our certificates and the analysis report per line.
Currency and payment
Offers in US dollars. Bank transfer only: 50% with the order, 50% before the container leaves, against the loading photographs.
Sourced on request
Outside the core range, items such as couverture, bulk chocolate by the kilo, raw nuts, dried fruit, cocoa, halva, tahini, baklava and empty packaging are sourced on request; we confirm composition and format before quoting, and they load in the same container.

Questions

Asked before the first list.

Do you work with importers in Comoros?

We are open to importers, distributors, wholesalers, the wedding trade and own-brand traders in Comoros. Send the product references, the quantities you have in mind and the port; the written offer follows within two working days.

Is Turkish chocolate already known on this market?

Yes. In 2023 Türkiye was the first source of chocolate imported into Comoros with 28.7% of a 498,379 dollar bill, ahead of the United Arab Emirates with 21.4%. Sugar confectionery is the opposite picture: a 958,831 dollar bill with Türkiye seventh at 2.5%.

Which port do you ship to?

Moroni or Mutsamudu, as your file requires. The cargo leaves Mersin and does not call directly, so the offer names the transshipment port, the delivery term, FCA Gaziantep, FOB Mersin, CIF or DAP, and the transit.

Is there a preferential rate on Turkish goods here?

We assume none, and we do not print duty figures. The origin document and the rules that apply are named in the offer per product and travel with the document set, and the offer states the tariff line and what applies on the day.

Which language does the label need?

French or Arabic, as the importer’s file requires, with the other alongside where the shelf wants it. For own-brand lines we prepare the content in both from our technical data sheet, and you approve the artwork in writing before anything is printed.

Can one container carry chocolate and dry lines together?

Yes. Chocolate and chocolate-coated lines are quoted in a reefer for the warm months and for a tropical discharge; Turkish delight, sugared almonds, jellies and wrapped candies travel dry, and the same container can carry both. Case weight and minimum per line are stated in the offer.

Is Antep Foods a chocolate manufacturer in Türkiye?

Yes. Antep Foods is a manufacturer and exporter in Gaziantep, exporting since 2002. Production takes place in our own factory; certificates and data sheets are issued for our factory. Wholesale only; prices come in a written offer, not on the site.
