Turkish chocolate, dragées, Turkish delight and confectionery for importers, wholesalers and the Turkish shelf in the Netherlands

One mixed container from Gaziantep, Türkiye, into Rotterdam, by sea or by road trailer across Europe: chocolate, dragées and sugared almonds, Turkish delight — Turks fruit on the Dutch shelf — wrapped confectionery and pistachio spread, under the EU–Türkiye customs union paperwork. The label content is prepared in Dutch to the EU rules, and the written offer follows in US dollars within two working days of your list.

Cases of chocolate, dragées and Turkish delight consolidated for one container in Gaziantep
Who we quote for

One container, every line, from Gaziantep.

We quote for Dutch food importers and distributors, for the trading houses that clear at Rotterdam and sell on across Europe, for the candy and confectionery wholesalers behind the sweet shops, market stalls and pick-and-mix counters, for the halal sweet wholesale layer that runs beside them, and for the wholesalers that supply the Turkish supermarket chains and the Turkish butchers’ shops from Amsterdam and Rotterdam to The Hague and the provincial towns. Dutch brands and retailers that want a huismerk line — chocolate, dragées or Turkish delight under their own name — are quoted from the same range. What goes in the load is what this market types in its own language: Turks fruit and lokum, the pistachio and kadayıf bar that arrived here as dubai chocolade, pistachepasta in jars, dragees and sugared almonds, coated nuts and wrapped sweets. The unit of sale is one full container, mixed across as many lines as you like, each line on its own pallet.

Everything we load is made in Gaziantep, in our own factory. That is what lets one container carry five product groups, and lets us check the lot before it is packed and photograph the pallets before the doors close. It also sets the honest limits of this page. The sweet word this market types more than any other is baklava, and baklava is not our line: it is sourced on request and confirmed before it is quoted. And the generic wholesale words — snoep groothandel, chocolade groothandel — are answered by Dutch stockists who buy in and break down, which for a pallet next week is the right call. Ordering at origin takes that layer out of the price; what it asks of you instead is a full load, the entry paperwork and a lead time, which is what the rest of this page is about.

We supply direct from our own factory in Gaziantep, the city we work in.

  • Food importers and trading houses clearing at Rotterdam for the Dutch shelf and for onward sale across the EU
  • Candy and confectionery wholesalers — snoep groothandel, pick-and-mix and bulk sweets — supplying sweet shops, market stalls and kiosks by the carton, with the halal sweet wholesale layer beside them
  • The Turkish supermarket chains and the Turkish butchers’ shelf, and the wholesalers that supply them by the pallet
  • Dutch brands and retailers wanting a huismerk or eigen merk line — chocolate, dragées or Turkish delight under their own name

Netherlands notes

What stays the same on every offer.

Rates and rules change; the quotation states what applies on the day. These points do not change.

Label
A Dutch label to the EU food information rules: the ingredient list with allergens emphasised, the nutrition declaration per 100 g, metric net quantity, the best-before date, and the name and EU address of the food business responsible for the product; a second language added where the load breaks down across the Benelux or travels on. Naming matters as much as the mandatory particulars in this market — the Dutch shelf reads Turks fruit before it reads Turkish delight, and pistachepasta before spread — so the front of pack is settled together with the label content, not after it. For private label we prepare that content from our technical data sheet and check your artwork against it before anything is printed.
Customs union and entry
The Netherlands is in the EU, and Türkiye and the EU are in a customs union: chocolate and confectionery travel with an A.TR movement certificate, and the offer states the tariff line and the duty that applies on the day, per line, so the landed cost is known before you order. The importer is the food business responsible for the product on the Dutch market and is registered with the competent authority; where a line contains dairy, as milk chocolate does, the EU rules for composite products apply and the attestation the entry needs is drawn up from our documents. Nothing about rates is printed on this site, because they change.
The Turkish supermarket shelf, and the butchers next to it
Measured in its own language, this is the largest single channel the Dutch market points at, and it is not one shop: Turkish supermarket chains with branches in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Eindhoven and the provincial towns, searched as turkse supermarkt and by their own names, with the turkse slagers, the Turkish butchers’ shops, beside them carrying a sweet shelf of their own. That shelf is import-fed rather than made locally. Most lines on this site are available in our standard packs, so a wholesaler supplying it can carry names the customers already recognise from the first container, and the same load can carry a house line beside them. Case weight, pieces per case and the pallet plan are stated per line, so the load breaks down by product rather than by shipment.
Turks fruit, and the word behind it
Turks fruit is the Dutch name for lokum and one of the most typed food words in the country — though a large part of that traffic belongs to the novel and the film of the same name rather than to the sweet, which is worth knowing before anyone plans a campaign around the number. The shelf itself is real and specific: plain and double-roasted lokum, pistachio and hazelnut, rose and mint, special lokum in gift boxes for the Turkish shelf and the gift trade, and bulk lokum cut for a counter that sells by weight. The pack can carry both names where it helps, Turks fruit for the Dutch shopper and lokum for the shelf that already knows it.
Dubai chocolade, and pistachepasta
The pistachio and kadayıf bar reached the Netherlands as dubai chocolade, and it is still one of the largest sweet searches in the country in Dutch and in English alike. It is made in Gaziantep too, where the pistachio grows and the kadayıf is made, in retail bars and gift formats in our standard packs or under yours. Pistachepasta travels with it: pistachio spread in glass jars, the word the Dutch shelf uses, and a spread is what is in the jar and what the label says. A pâtissier asking for pistachio paste by the kilo means something else; that is sourced on request rather than held.
Candy wholesale, pick and mix, and the halal layer
Snoep groothandel, schepsnoep, bulk sweets: the Dutch trade buys jellies in bulk bags and wrapped pieces, popping candy, wrapped mini biscuits, sugared almonds by colour, chocolate dragées and lokum cut for the counter, and it buys cheap and by the carton. Beside it runs a separate halal sweet wholesale layer — halal snoep groothandel — with its own suppliers and its own customers. Halal is not a blanket claim on this site: the certificate is held for our factory, and the offer states which body issued it, with copies available on request. Where a line is not certified, the offer says so.
What may be called chocolade
Under the EU cocoa and chocolate rules a coating made with vegetable fat instead of cocoa butter cannot be sold as chocolate, in Dutch or in any other EU language. Every line in the offer states which it is, real chocolate or a compound coating, so the wording on the pack and in your catalogue is settled before the artwork is drawn.
Rotterdam, the route and the calendar
Two routes, and the offer says which one it quotes: sea freight from Mersin to Rotterdam, or a road trailer from Gaziantep across Europe. The delivery term, FCA Gaziantep, FOB Mersin, CIF or DAP, and the transit are stated. Chocolate and chocolate-coated lines are quoted in a reefer for the warm months; Turkish delight, sugared almonds and jellies travel dry. A container that clears at Rotterdam is in free circulation in the EU, which is why an importer here is rarely buying for the Dutch shelf alone. The Dutch sweet calendar is front-loaded — Sinterklaas, Christmas and carnival are bought months ahead — so the lead time per line and the sailing are set against the date it has to be on the shelf, not the date you order. Offers are written in US dollars; bank transfer only, 50% with the order and 50% before the container leaves, against the loading photographs.
Sourced on request
Outside the core range we hold nothing in stock, but we can buy in what your list needs and load it in the same container: baklava, the most typed sweet word in this market, which mostly reaches it direct from named houses in Türkiye; halva; couverture and bulk chocolate by the kilo; pistachio paste by the kilo; raw pistachios and bulk nuts; dried fruit; cocoa; and empty packaging. Chocolate letters and Sinterklaas figures are a Dutch mould set rather than a Gaziantep one, and whether a producer here can run them is checked before anything is quoted. These are sourced on request; we confirm composition and format before quoting.

Private label chocolate and confectionery for Dutch brands

Looking for a private label chocolate manufacturer outside the Netherlands, a huismerk range for the Dutch shelf, or a Turks fruit box under your own name? We put our own lines under your brand: tablets and bars, the pistachio and kadayıf bar, sugared almonds and chocolate dragées in doypacks, gift boxes, Turkish delight and pistachio spread jars, with the label content prepared to the EU rules in Dutch, and nothing printed before you approve it.

Questions

Asked before the first list.

Do you work with importers and wholesalers in the Netherlands?

We quote for food importers and trading houses, candy and confectionery wholesalers, the halal sweet wholesale layer, the wholesalers that supply the Turkish supermarket chains and butchers’ shops, and Dutch brands that want their own label. Send the product references, the quantities you have in mind and whether you want the container by sea or by road; the written offer follows within two working days, in US dollars.

Is there duty on chocolate and confectionery from Türkiye into the Netherlands?

The goods travel under the EU–Türkiye customs union with an A.TR movement certificate, and the offer states the tariff line and the duty that applies on the day, per line, so the landed cost is known before you order. Rates are not printed on this site because they change.

Can we buy standard packs for the Turkish supermarket shelf?

Yes. Most lines are available in our standard packs, and a house line can travel in the same container beside them. Case weight, pieces per case and the pallet plan are stated per line, and the minimum per line is written into the offer.

Is everything halal?

Not automatically, and we do not make a blanket claim. Our Halal certificate is held for our factory; the offer states per line which lines it covers and which body issued it, with copies on request, and says plainly where a line is not certified.

Can the wrapper say chocolade?

Only where the line really is chocolate. Under the EU cocoa and chocolate rules a coating made with vegetable fat instead of cocoa butter is a compound coating and has to be described as one. The offer states which each line is, so the wording is settled before anything is printed.

What is the minimum order, and is it road or sea?

One full container, 20 ft or 40 ft, or a full trailer, mixed across the lines you choose; the minimum per line is set per line and is stated in the offer. Both routes are quoted — a road trailer from Gaziantep across Europe, or sea freight from Mersin to Rotterdam — with a reefer for chocolate lines in the warm months.

Do you supply baklava, halva or pistachio paste by the kilo?

Not from the core range, but they can be bought in and loaded in the same container. Baklava, halva, couverture and bulk chocolate by the kilo, pistachio paste by the kilo, raw nuts and dried fruit are sourced on request; we confirm composition and format before quoting.

Is Antep Foods a chocolate manufacturer in Türkiye?

Yes. Antep Foods is a manufacturer and exporter in Gaziantep, exporting since 2002. Production takes place in our own factory; certificates and data sheets are issued for our factory. Wholesale only; prices come in a written offer, not on the site.
