- Label
- An English label to the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code: the ingredient list with allergens declared, the nutrition information panel, metric net quantity and the name and address of the New Zealand importer. For private label we prepare the label content to those rules and check your artwork against it before anything is printed.
- Importer registration and biosecurity
- Food importers register with the food safety authority before importing, and biosecurity import conditions apply to products with dairy, nuts and dried fruit in them, which covers most of this site. The importer checks the conditions for each line before ordering; what that check needs from our side, our technical data sheet with the origin of the dairy ingredients and lot traceability, travels with the offer; certificate copies are available on request. Every line is specified in the offer.
- Customs
- There is no free trade agreement between New Zealand and Türkiye. The offer states the tariff line for each product and the duty that applies on the day, so the landed cost is known before you order.
- Turkish delight in New Zealand
- New Zealanders search for Turkish delight more than for any other confection on this site, and the searches point at three things: the British chocolate bar with a rose centre, the local small-batch makers, and the real starch-set lokum from Türkiye. Is the Turkish delight the real lokum?
Yes: starch-set lokum made in Gaziantep, dusted cubes and the pistachio roll. The chocolate bar that borrowed the name is a British confection; a bar format is sourced on request.
Can you make our own brand for the New Zealand market?
Yes — private label is one of our core services. We prepare the label content to the Food Standards Code, you approve the artwork in writing, and the minimum per line is stated in the offer.
