- Licence, inspection and entry
- The importer holds the import licence where the line needs one and is registered with the food authority, and the standards institution’s import inspection applies to the lines that fall under it. The offer states which lines the inspection touches and what it needs per line, and what applies to each line on the day; our certificates, the technical data sheet and the analysis report per line travel with the container. Every line is specified in the offer.
- Label
- An English label, with the Sinhala and Tamil the importer adds as the rules ask: the name of the food, the ingredient list with allergens, metric net weight, storage, the production and expiry dates and the name and address of the importer. For lines in our standard packs we confirm what the export pack carries and what the importer adds as a sticker; for private label we prepare the label content in the three languages and check your artwork against it before anything is printed.
- Customs
- There is no free trade agreement between Sri Lanka and Türkiye; the offer states the tariff line for each product and the duty and levies that apply on the day, so the landed cost is known before you order. Nothing about duty is printed on this site, because it changes.
- The supermarket shelf and the grocery shelf
- Sri Lanka has two shelves. The supermarket chains and the hotels have chillers and take chocolate: the tablet, the boxed assortment, the pistachio end and the Dubai style bar, in a reefer. The grocery and the bakery counter take the wafer, the wrapped bar and wrapped sweets by the kilo bag, dry, and the compound-coated line that tolerates the heat. The offer states which lines are which, and one container carries both shelves on their own pallets.
- Pettah
- The wholesale trade in Colombo buys by the carton in Pettah, and the Pettah wholesaler buys by the pallet from an importer or imports for itself; that is the link we quote, one mixed container with each line on its own pallet, so a wholesaler carries tablets, wrapped bars, dragées, Turkish delight and wrapped sweets from one order.

Both exist, for different shelves. The offer states per line whether it is chocolate or compound-coated, so an importer can put the right line in the supermarket chiller and the right line on the grocery shelf.
Is the container a reefer?
For chocolate lines, yes, year round on this route; compound lines and dry lines are quoted as the offer states.
Can you make our own brand for the Sri Lankan market?
Yes — private label is one of our core services. We prepare the label content in English, Sinhala and Tamil, you approve the artwork in writing, and the minimum per line is stated in the offer.
