Chocolate suppliers in Lebanon: what a chocolatier and an importer buy from Gaziantep, and the container behind it

Most of these searches come from a chocolate house looking for what it cannot make itself, and a few from an importer looking for a line to carry. Here is what each of them buys from Gaziantep, and how the container behind it is built.

A Lebanese chocolate house makes its own pralines and dresses its own trays, and what it buys in is the part that is cheaper to buy than to make: sugared almonds and chocolate dragées by colour, chocolate coated almonds and hazelnuts, bulk chocolate for its moulds, and lately the pistachio cream and kadayif filling for the bar everyone asks for. An importer buys something else: finished lines in a standard pack, tablets, wrapped bars, boxed assortments and Turkish delight, for the supermarket and minimarket shelf. We quote for both, and the container is mixed so both kinds of line travel on their own pallets in one load.

What comes from Gaziantep

The dragée page lists sugared almonds by colour, chocolate dragées in milk, dark and white, and coated nuts; the chocolate page lists tablets, bars, the Dubai style bar with pistachio and kadayif, and boxed assortments; the pistachio page lists the cream in jars and the pistachio itself, grown around the city. Every line is made in our own factory in Gaziantep, with the technical data sheet and our certificates.

The short crossing

Mersin to Beirut is one of the shortest sea routes we quote, which changes the arithmetic for a chocolatier: a season’s dragées can be ordered closer to the season, and a reefer is needed for the chocolate lines only in the warm months. Sugared almonds, jellies and Turkish delight travel dry all year. The offer states for each line whether it goes dry or in the reefer, the case weight, and the pallet plan.

Price, duty and what is not printed here

There is no free trade agreement in force between Lebanon and Türkiye, so the offer states the tariff line for each product and the duty that applies on the day; nothing about duty, the exchange rate or the season is printed on this site, because all three move. The price per line is in US dollars, by the case, with the pallet plan, so a chocolate house knows its cost per tray and an importer its cost per shelf before either orders.

Who fills the container

The unit of sale is one full container. A chocolate house that uses dragées, bulk chocolate and fillings by the tonne fills one on its own and is quoted like an importer; a smaller house buys by the carton from the importer or wholesaler that brings the container in. A group of houses that pools an order is quoted like an importer too, with each house’s cartons on their own pallets. The mixed-container page explains how the load is built.

What to send first

The lines from the chocolate page, the dragée page and the Turkish delight page, the quantity per line, the port, Beirut or Tripoli, and whether any line carries your own brand. The written offer follows within two working days, in US dollars; the samples page explains how to taste the lines first, and the Lebanon page lists what stays the same on every offer.

Every line here is made in our own factory at Başpınar OSB, Gaziantep — a 10,000 m² site, exporting since 2002 — and certificate copies are available on request.

Can a chocolatier buy directly from Türkiye?

The unit of sale is one full container. A house that fills one is quoted like an importer; a smaller house buys by the carton from the importer or wholesaler that brings it in, or pools an order with others.

Do you sell bulk chocolate for moulding?

Yes, from our factory in Gaziantep, in the formats the offer states; the technical data sheet per line comes with the offer.

Is a reefer needed?

For chocolate lines in the warm months, yes. Dragées, jellies and Turkish delight travel dry; a mixed load is quoted as the offer states.
