Importing chocolate and confectionery to Lebanon from Türkiye: the label, the entry and the short crossing

An importer wants to know what to hold and what the supplier must send before a container clears at Beirut. Here is the split from the supplier’s side, with the label first, because it is the part most often sent late.

The label

Arabic on the label, alone or next to English or French: the name of the food, the ingredient list with allergens, metric net weight, production and expiry dates, storage and the importer’s name and address. For lines in our standard packs we confirm what the export pack already carries and what the importer adds as a sticker; for private label we prepare the label content from our data sheet and you approve the artwork before printing. The Lebanese private label page goes through it.

Who holds what

The importer is registered with the authorities as a food business and clears the consignment at the port, where it is checked. As the Turkish producer we do not register in Lebanon; we supply the technical data sheet, our certificates and the analysis report per line so each check points at the right plant. Where a certificate is asked for that we do not hold, the offer says so before the deposit.

Customs

There is no free trade agreement in force between Lebanon and Türkiye. The offer states the tariff line for each product and the duty that applies on the day, and nothing about duty is printed on this site, because it changes; the landed cost is in the offer, before the order. The commercial set is the invoice, the packing list per pallet, the certificate of origin, the analysis report and, for pistachio lines, an aflatoxin certificate, listed on the how we work page.

The route and the reefer

Sea freight from Mersin to Beirut, one of the shortest crossings we quote, with Tripoli on request; the port and the delivery term, FCA Gaziantep, FOB Mersin, CIF or DAP, are stated in the offer. Chocolate and chocolate-coated lines are quoted in a reefer for the warm months; Turkish delight, sugared almonds and jellies travel dry. The mixed-container page explains how the load is built, each line on its own pallet.

The timeline

Label and documents first, then the deposit, then production, then the crossing. Because the crossing is short, the production lead time per line is most of the wait, and it is stated in the offer. An importer that has cleared our lines once clears the next lines faster, because the data sheets and certificates are already on file. The Lebanon page lists what stays the same on every offer.

What to send first

The lines from the chocolate page, the dragée page and the Turkish delight page, the quantity per line, the port, Beirut or Tripoli, and whether any line carries your own brand. The written offer follows within two working days, in US dollars; the samples page explains how to taste the lines first, and the Lebanon page lists what stays the same on every offer.

Every line here is made in our own factory at Başpınar OSB, Gaziantep — a 10,000 m² site, exporting since 2002 — and certificate copies are available on request.

Does the Turkish producer register in Lebanon?

No. The importer is the registered food business; we supply the data sheet, certificates and analysis report per line, named in the offer.

Is there duty on chocolate from Türkiye into Lebanon?

There is no free trade agreement in force; the offer states the tariff line and the duty that applies on the day, not this site.

Is the container a reefer?

For chocolate lines in the warm months, yes. Dry lines travel dry; a mixed load is quoted as the offer states.

How to order

Send the list. We do the rest.

Send your product list with approximate quantities and the destination port. You get one offer covering every line, then one container, loaded and photographed before the doors close.
