Chocolate wholesale in Trinidad: Port of Spain, the parlour shelf, the islands beyond, and the container behind the cartons

Buyers come from a trade that buys by the carton for supermarkets and parlours and sells on to the islands. Here is the chain from the supplier’s side, why the offer says chocolate or compound per line, and who in the chain buys the container.

The chain

A supermarket, a parlour, a pharmacy counter or a festival stall buys chocolate and sweets by the carton from a wholesaler in Port of Spain, San Fernando or Scarborough; the wholesaler buys by the pallet from an importer, or imports for itself; the importer brings the container into Port of Spain or Point Lisas with each product registered. That is the link we quote: a food importer or a wholesale house filling one mixed container from Gaziantep, each line on its own pallet.

Two shelves

The supermarket and the mall have chillers and take chocolate: the tablet, the boxed assortment, the pistachio end and the Dubai style bar under a Turkish brand, in a reefer. The parlour and the roadside stall have no cooling and take the wafer, the wrapped bar, the compound-coated line and wrapped sweets by the kilo bag, dry. The offer states which lines are which, and the chocolate or compound article goes through the difference; one container carries both shelves on their own pallets.

The islands beyond

An importer in Trinidad often sells on to Guyana, Barbados, Grenada and St Vincent, and a container that clears at Port of Spain is planned for that: the pallet plan per line, the label that serves the region, and the festival lines for four calendars on their own pallets. The chocolate page, the dragée page and the confectionery page list each group.

Price, and what is not printed here

Chocolate price in Trinidad is a shopper’s search; the trade’s answer is in the offer, not on this site: the price per line in US dollars, the case count, the pallet plan, the tariff line and the duty that applies on the day under the Caribbean tariff, with the registration documents listed. Nothing that changes with the exchange rate or the season is printed on a page, so a wholesaler is never quoting from a number that has since moved.

Who fills the container

The unit of sale is one full container. A wholesaler that moves pallets fills one on its own and is quoted like an importer, with the registration and the permit on its side; a smaller reseller buys by the carton from the wholesaler that does. A group of resellers that pools an order is quoted like an importer too, each buyer’s cartons on their own pallets. The mixed-container page explains how the load is built.

What to send first

The lines from the chocolate page, the dragée page and the Turkish delight page, the quantity per line, and whether any line carries your own brand. The written offer follows within two working days, in US dollars and the registration documents listed; the samples page explains how to taste the lines first, and the Trinidad and Tobago page lists what stays the same on every offer.

Every line here is made in our own factory at Başpınar OSB, Gaziantep — a 10,000 m² site, exporting since 2002 — and certificate copies are available on request.

Can a parlour or a stall buy directly from Türkiye?

The unit of sale is one full container. A parlour buys by the carton from the wholesaler that imports it; a group that pools a container and holds the registration is quoted like an importer.

Do you sell compound-coated lines?

Yes, and the offer says so per line, so the parlour shelf gets a line that tolerates the heat and the supermarket chiller gets chocolate in a reefer.

Is the container a reefer?

For chocolate lines, yes, year round on this route. Compound lines and dry lines are quoted as the offer states.
