Four calendars
Divali fills the house with sweets and the office with gift boxes; Eid puts the assortment on the table; Christmas is the largest chocolate season of the year; Carnival is the season of the wrapped sweet and the giveaway. The traders that serve those days buy boxed assortments, mini bars, chocolate dragées in milk, dark and white, sugared almonds by colour, coated nuts and wrapped sweets by the carton, a container ahead of each season. The wedding table
Trinidad’s weddings are Hindu, Muslim, Christian and everything in between, and most of them send guests home with something: a box of dragées, sugared almonds in tulle, a pair of mini bars with the couple’s names on the sleeve. Sugared almonds come one colour per carton or mixed, in the whites, golds and the strong colours the trade asks for; chocolate dragées and coated nuts in a matching range; the case weight per line is stated in the offer, and the colours can be run to your own palette on selected lines under the private label page.
Dry or reefer
Sugared almonds, wrapped sweets and Turkish delight travel dry all year and sit in a warm store without complaint; chocolate dragées, coated nuts, mini bars and boxed assortments go in the reefer, year round on this route, and need a cool room until the day. A trader that plans the two separately, almonds and sweets for the bags, chocolate for the table, sells both.
Timing
Divali and Eid move with their calendars, Christmas does not, and a container from Mersin takes its own time, so a trader plans the year from one order and the seasonal colours a container ahead. The Diwali hampers article and the Eid ordering article go through the timing from Gaziantep; the offer states the lead time per line and the transit to Port of Spain.
Who buys the container
A trader buys by the carton from a wholesaler or an importer; the importer fills the container, with the festival lines on their own pallets next to the supermarket lines and the Turkish delight, so a wholesaler that serves the festival trade adds those lines to an order it was making anyway. A large trader that holds the registration and pools a container is quoted like an importer, with the price per line in US dollars and the duty that applies on the day in the offer.

Every line here is made in our own factory at Başpınar OSB, Gaziantep — a 10,000 m² site, exporting since 2002 — and certificate copies are available on request.

Do sugared almonds need a reefer?
No, they travel dry. Chocolate dragées, mini bars and boxed assortments travel in the reefer with the chocolate lines.
