The Eid shelf
Three things sell: the wrapped assortment sold by the kilo, milk, hazelnut and pistachio minis in bright wrappers, scooped into bags and bowls; the Eid box, a printed assortment of mini bars or Turkish delight given as a gift; and the Ramadan giveaway, dates and chocolate or dragées in a small pack handed out at iftar and at the mosque door. Turkish producers make all three, and the pistachio minis from Gaziantep are the ones asked for by name. The wrapped kilo is the line that never waits for a season to end; the box and the giveaway are ordered for the date.
Why the order comes early
Producers run Eid packs ahead of the season and then return to the standard range; a late order gets the standard wrapper or waits a year. The lead time per line is in the offer, counted from the deposit and, for own-brand packs, from the approved artwork. Add the sea: Mersin to Jeddah or Dammam in a reefer, because on this route chocolate travels cold in every month. Own-brand packs are ordered earliest, standard Eid packs next, and standard lines can follow in a second container. No dates are printed on this site; the offer states them for the year in question.
Ramadan first, then two Eids
Ramadan is the giveaway season, dragées and small packs; Eid al-Fitr is the assortment and the box; Eid al-Adha repeats the box and adds the wrapped kilo for the family table. An importer that orders once for Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr usually orders again for Eid al-Adha from the same factory, and the second container is easier because the artwork exists. The Ramadan article covers the truck route to Iraq; the Saudi route is the sea.
Halal, named per line
The season is also when the halal question is asked most. Our certificates are issued for our factory, the certifying body is named in the offer and copies are available on request; a line without a certificate is stated as such. That is how a wholesaler builds a certified Eid list rather than a hopeful one.
What to send first
The lines from the chocolate page and the Turkish delight page, the quantity per line, the port, and the month you want the goods on the shelf; say if any pack carries your own brand. The written offer follows within two working days with the lead time per line, the certifying body named. The Saudi Arabia page lists what stays the same on every offer.
