Dragée cartons for Latvia: what the supplier sends, and what the workshop keeps

In Latvia the favour is finished locally — the tulle, the box, the ribbon, the hand that ties it. What crosses the border is the sweet inside. We supply the dragée in cartons, not the assembled gift, and that line is worth drawing in the first email: it decides what a quotation can answer.

Who buys the carton

Four kinds of buyer ask for the same thing. Gift workshops assembling wedding and christening favours to order. Caterers and event suppliers who need one steady colour through a season. Wholesalers who take pallets and break them down for smaller trade. And retailers who want the product on a shelf, already in a sales pack.

All four start from one carton; what changes is the format and the quantity per line. It is a real market rather than a large one — Latvia imports around $48 million of sugar confectionery a year, with Türkiye the fifteenth supplier.

What a dragée actually is

A dragée is two decisions, not one. First the core: almond, peanut, hazelnut, or a fruit centre. Each behaves differently in the coating pan, and each carries its own allergen line and its own price.

Then the coating, where offers get compared badly: chocolate, or a vegetable-fat glaze. In the EU the second cannot be labelled chocolate — it is a cocoa coating and must be named as one. Both look alike inside a tulle pouch and do not cost the same. The quotation states line by line which coating a line runs, with our technical specification, ingredients and allergens behind it.

Colour and calibre are line facts

Catalogue colours are a photograph; production colours are a fact about a machine in a given month. So colour is confirmed in our factory, line by line, before the quotation goes out — white, ivory, silver, pale blue, gold.

Calibre deserves the same treatment: bead size, and the count that follows, decides how a pouch drapes and what a fixed piece count weighs. Send colour and calibre together; both are verified before a price is written.

The minimum is per line, not per container

The sales unit is a full container or a full truck; there are no part loads. The minimum quantity, however, is set per line and applies per line — for the gift trade the decisive figure in the file, written into the quotation rather than described in general terms.

So a first order is not trapped in one colour. Three or four colours, or a coated core next to a plain one, can travel together in a mixed container — each line on its own pallet, one packing list, one movement certificate. Payment is 50% at order and 50% before the container leaves, against loading photographs.

Same line, two formats

The dragée that reaches a workshop in a bulk carton is the same dragée that reaches a shelf in a sales pack: a window box, or a doypack. Ordering both formats in one container lets a distributor serve the assembly trade and the shelf without two shipments, and keeps the colour identical across both.

On selected lines the retail pack can be produced under your own label, after our confirmation. Label copy is drafted from the technical specification, not from a sales leaflet, and nothing goes to print without your written approval.

Transport, labelling — and what to send

Dragée travels dry the year round, and so does Turkish delight; that suits a gift calendar which peaks in warm months. Chocolate and chocolate-coated products travel at +18/+20 °C. In hot months a refrigerated container is offered, and where a dry container is preferred instead, the temperature risk passes to the buyer in writing, before loading.

Latvia is in the EU, so the goods move with an A.TR movement certificate; the quotation states what applies on the day. The mandatory particulars appear in Latvian, and the company that first places the goods on the EU market is named on the pack.

What to send: core and coating type for each line, the colours in your own wording, calibre, carton or retail format, quantity per line, destination port and shipping month. A written quotation follows within two working days.

Do you supply the tulle, boxes and ribbon as well?

No. We supply the dragée in bulk cartons, and on selected lines in retail sales packs. Tulle, boxes, ribbon, tags and the assembly work stay on your side.

Can the coating always be called chocolate on the label?

Only when it is chocolate. A vegetable-fat glaze cannot be labelled chocolate in the EU; it is a cocoa coating and must be named as one. The quotation states for each line which coating that line runs, so the Latvian label text is drafted correctly the first time.

Is the minimum per container or per colour?

Set per line and written in the quotation. That is why a first container can carry three or four colours rather than being forced into a single one.

How to order

Send the list. We do the rest.

Send your product list with approximate quantities and the destination port. You get one offer covering every line, then one container, loaded and photographed before the doors close.
