Dubai chocolate in Jamaica: the bar behind the searches, and where the pistachio comes from

The bar reached Kingston through a phone screen and the searches ask who has it. Here is what the bar is, why most of the filling comes from Gaziantep, which shelf it can live on, and what an importer buys.

The bar

A thick milk chocolate shell filled with pistachio cream and toasted kadayif, the shredded pastry that gives the bite its crunch. The name comes from the city where it went viral, an ocean away; the filling comes from further north. Pistachio is grown around Gaziantep and kadayif is made there in the same streets, which is why we were making pistachio and kadayif fillings long before the bar had a name, and why the bar is now made there in retail, gift and catering formats.

Where the searches go

Where to buy, the supermarket, the resort gift shop, the duty-free counter, and the price. An importer reads those searches differently: the demand is proven, the shelf is already asking, and a bar with a producer behind it, on the right shelf in the right container, is what the trade is missing. The duty-free counter alone sells the bar to a guest who saw it on the way in and wants it on the way out. The chocolate page lists the bar and the pistachio tablets next to it; pistachio cream in jars is on the pistachio page.

The chiller question

This bar is chocolate, and in Jamaica that decides where it can be sold: the supermarket with a chiller, the resort, the airport, not the corner shop in the afternoon sun. It travels in a reefer year round on this route and is stated as chocolate on the offer, next to the compound lines that go to the everyday shelf. An importer that plans the two shelves separately sells both.

The price question

For a shopper the price is set by the shop; for an importer it is in the offer: the price per bar in US dollars, the case count, the pallet plan, the tariff line and the duty that applies on the day. Nothing that changes with the exchange rate or the season is printed on this site. The Jamaica page lists what stays the same on every offer.

Under whose name

In our standard packs from the first container, or under your own brand: the Jamaican private label page goes through the formats, the label content and the artwork approval. A resort group that wants the bar in its own box for the gift shop has a producer for it, and the pistachio cream and the kadayif filling are sold on their own for the pastry kitchen that pours its own.

What to send first

The lines from the chocolate page, the dragée page and the Turkish delight page, the quantity per line, and whether any line carries your own name. The written offer follows within two working days, in US dollars; the samples page explains how to taste the lines first, and the Jamaica page lists what stays the same on every offer.

Every line here is made in our own factory at Başpınar OSB, Gaziantep — a 10,000 m² site, exporting since 2002 — and certificate copies are available on request.

Is Dubai chocolate made in Dubai?

The name comes from where it went viral. The pistachio and the kadayif come from around Gaziantep, and the bars and fillings we quote are made there.

Can a shop order a few cartons?

The unit of sale is one full container, mixed across lines. A shop buys from the importer or the wholesaler that brings it in; every line is in the offer.

Does the bar need a reefer?

Yes, year round on this route, and a chiller at the other end; it is stated as chocolate on the offer.

How to order

Send the list. We do the rest.

Send your product list with approximate quantities and the destination port. You get one offer covering every line, then one container, loaded and photographed before the doors close.
