The bar
A thick milk chocolate shell filled with pistachio cream and toasted kadayif, the shredded pastry Jordan knows from its own kunafa. The name comes from the city where it went viral; the filling comes from further north. Pistachio is grown around Gaziantep and kadayif is made there in the same streets, which is why we were making pistachio and kadayif fillings long before the bar had a name, and why the bar is now made there in retail, gift and catering formats.
Made in Jordan
The searches for Dubai chocolate made in Jordan and Jordanian Dubai chocolate are the interesting ones: Amman’s chocolate shops and a few small factories pour their own shells, and what they need in quantity is the pistachio cream and the kadayif filling, because the pistachio is not grown in Jordan in that quantity and the filling is a producer’s job. We quote the cream in jars and pails and the filling in bulk from the same factory that fills the retail bar; the pistachio page lists the formats.
Made in Gaziantep
For the supermarket shelf and the gift trade the finished bar travels under a Turkish brand, or under your own on selected lines through the Jordanian private label page. The chocolate page lists the bar and the pistachio tablets next to it. A shop that wants its own name on a bar it does not have to make itself has a producer for it; a shop that wants to keep making its own has a supplier for the filling.
The price question
For a shopper the price is set by the shop; for an importer or a maker it is in the offer: the price per bar or per kilo of filling in US dollars, the case count, the pallet plan, the tariff line and the duty that applies on the day. Nothing that changes with the exchange rate or the season is printed on this site. A bar that lands by the pallet is a different product, at a different price, from a bar made by hand in a shop, and Amman has room for both.
What the Jordanian entry needs
Arabic on the label with the ingredient list and allergens, net weight and the importer’s name, and the production and expiry dates printed on the pack in production; our certificates and analysis report per line for the food and drug authority’s check at the border; and a reefer in every season on the sea route to Aqaba. The Jordan page lists what stays the same on every offer.
What to send first
The lines from the chocolate page, the dragée page and the Turkish delight page, the quantity per line, and whether any line carries your own brand. The written offer follows within two working days, in US dollars, with the certifying body named per line; the samples page explains how to taste the lines first, and the Jordan page lists what stays the same on every offer.
Is Dubai chocolate made in Dubai?
The name comes from where it went viral. The pistachio and the kadayif come from around Gaziantep; the bars and fillings we quote are made there, and Jordan’s own makers buy the filling.
Do you sell the filling on its own?
Yes: pistachio cream in jars and pails, and the kadayif filling, from us, in the formats the offer states.
Does the bar need a reefer?
Yes, year round on the sea route to Aqaba; the offer states the term.
