Mixed, not deep
The shelf here is already served: 99.8 per cent of the chocolate and 99.9 per cent of the sugar confectionery arrive from one neighbouring country, and the next names on each list sit at 0.2 and 0.1 per cent — rounding rather than alternatives.
Against a shelf like that, a deep first order in one line is a bet; a mixed one is a test. Several formats reach the same facing at the cost of one box, and the second order is sized on what your own tills recorded rather than on what a catalogue claimed.
What loads from the range, and what is fetched
Loading straight from the range: chocolate, dragées, Turkish delight, wrapped confectionery and spreads in jars. Those lines already run in our Gaziantep factory, so each is sampled, specified and priced on its own.
Everything else — couverture, bulk chocolate by the kilo, raw nuts, dried fruit, cocoa, baklava, halva, tahini, empty packaging — is sourced on request: we confirm composition and format before quoting. What is confirmed travels in the same box, which is usually why it is asked for. What cannot be confirmed stays out of the offer.
Format is decided before flavour
First orders stall on format more often than on taste. The same Turkish delight leaves as a bulk carton for a cash-and-carry, a printed box for a hotel counter, or a small retail pack for a supermarket facing; dragées go as a doypack, a jar or a loose carton; a spread is filled to a weight we already run.
Each choice moves case weight, pack count and cartons per pallet, which decides how many lines fit in one box. Name the format first and the range narrows to what can be quoted.
Reefer lines and dry lines in one box
There is no seaport in this country, so the box finishes on a road whatever its origin. The sea leg leaves Mersin, about three hours by road from our factory, and the inland leg runs from theport of entry across a land border.
Chocolate and chocolate-coated lines are quoted in a reefer through the warm months; Turkish delight, dragées, jellies and wrapped confectionery travel dry, and both share one box. On a route that ends overland the cold chain is booked for the whole journey, not the sea part of it, so the offer marks which lines are reefer lines.
What the offer states, line by line
An offer worth checking is one that can be checked. Per line it names the specification, ingredients and allergens, net weight, case weight and pack count, the format, the delivery term and the price in US dollars. Terms quoted are FCA Gaziantep, FOB Mersin, CIF or DAP.
The origin document and the rules that apply are named in the form valid on the day the offer is written; your clearing agent confirms what applies on the day the goods arrive. Certificates are issued for our factory, with the holder and the certifying body named perline.
Confirm these before production is booked
Four things settle first. The English label content: name of the food, ingredients with allergens, metric net weight, storage conditions, the importer’s name and address, the date marking — with own-label artwork checked against our technical data sheet before printing. The coating, named on each coated line as chocolate or as a compound; in the European Union a vegetable-fat coating may not be labelled chocolate at all. The point of entry and who declares the goods. And samples from running production, so the test uses the real article.
Send the lines you want priced, the format for each, an indicative quantity and the delivery point, and a written offer follows.
Why one mixed container instead of a small trial order?
Because the unit of sale is a full container, and mixing it is what makes a first order affordable to judge: several lines and several formats reach your shelf at the cost of one box. Türkiye appears in neither import column here, so there is no precedent consignment to copy and no reason to commit depth before your own tills have said anything.
What do you need from us before the box can be quoted?
The lines you want priced, the format for each — bulk carton, retail pack, doypack, printed box or jar — an indicative quantity, the delivery point, and whether the pack keeps our standard pack or carries your brand. With that we confirm each line and the offer comes back in writing, per line, in US dollars.
Can chocolate and Turkish delight really travel in the same container?
Yes, and the offer says how. Chocolate and chocolate-coated lines are quoted in a reefer through the warm months while Turkish delight, dragées, jellies and wrapped confectionery travel dry. Because this route ends overland, the cold chain is booked across the inland leg as well as the sea leg, and the offer marks which lines are reefer lines.
