Before the offer
- The product list. References from the product pages, quantities in cases or kilograms, the destination port. That is enough for a written offer.
- Private label or our standard pack. Say which; private label adds a line confirmation and an artwork step.
- Samples. Free from running production, courier at your cost, paid before dispatch.
The producer’s side
- Food-facility registration. Our factory holds a registration with the US food authority and has a US agent; the offer carries it.
- Certificates. Issued for our factory; copies are available on request. The certificates that apply are named per line: FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, HACCP, Halal, Kosher and FDA registration.
- Technical data sheet. Ingredients, allergens, shelf life and storage, per product, with the quotation.
The importer’s side
- Prior notice. Filed before the container arrives, using our factory’s registration and the shipment data the exporter supplies.
- Supplier verification. The importer keeps its own programme for each foreign supplier; our documents feed it.
- Customs entry. Bond, entry filing and duty on the tariff line for each product. There is no free trade agreement between the United States and Türkiye, so the offer states the tariff line and the duty that applies on the day.
The label
English. If Turkish text stays on the pack, the required information appears in both languages. The nine major allergens are declared; a nutrition panel is shown; the name of the food follows US standards of identity, which matters for anything called chocolate. For private label the label content is prepared from the technical data sheet and checked against the artwork before printing.
Three mistakes that cost time
- Asking for a price list. There is none; prices are quoted per line, in writing, on the day. A product list with quantities gets a real offer; a request for a price list gets a request for a product list.
- Deciding the pack after the offer. Retail and bulk packs of the same product can sit on different tariff lines and pallet plans. Decide the format before the offer, not at the port.
- Approving artwork by chat. Private-label artwork is approved in writing before anything is printed, because the label content is checked against the technical data sheet first.
The container
- Each line on its own pallet, one packing list per pallet, the container mixed.
- Temperature. Chocolate and chocolate-coated products travel at a controlled temperature; in the warm months a reefer is quoted. Turkish delight and sugar-panned products travel dry.
- Documents. Commercial invoice, packing list per pallet, certificate of origin, analysis report and, where required, an aflatoxin certificate.
- Photographs. Pallet by pallet, before the doors close; the balance is paid against them.
Do you handle the US customs entry?
No. The importer of record files the entry; we supply the documents and data it needs, including our factory’s registration for the prior notice.
Do you accept letters of credit?
No. Bank transfer only, half with the order and half before the container leaves, against the loading photographs.
How long does the offer stay valid?
The validity is stated on the quotation itself, together with the tariff line and the price basis for each product.
