What is missing here, and what we will not do about it
Two gaps, both worth stating. With no reporting into the international trade databases there is no origin share, no category value, no value per kilo. The second is the same in kind: our search tool has no Kosovo targeting, so no local results page could be pulled, and the same-language measurement from the neighbouring market was read as a proxy.
A proxy is not this market, and we will not present a neighbour’s number as if it described Kosovo: an order sized on a borrowed figure is sized on nothing (Kosovo market page).
Start from the shelf, because the shelf is the real data
Most of what a table would have said, a buyer here already knows better: which lines move now and at what price point, what turns weekly and what sits. Whether the counter sells by weight or by sales box — weigh-out and boxed retail are two different orders of the same goods. Whether the pull is everyday impulse or gifting, which changes format before flavour.
Those answers size an order better than any national average could: an average describes a country, and you sell to a counter.
The minimum is per line — which is what makes a measured first order possible
The sales unit is a full container or truck; there is no part load. But the minimum is set per line and written into the offer — per line, not per container. With no table to read, that is what does the measuring.
So the first list is not a bet on one item. Three or four lines, each at its own minimum, travel together and come back as sell-through: which repeats, which sits, which format the counter takes. Six or seven items fit this way, each on its own pallet under one packing list (mixed container).
Temperature decides what can share the load
What travels together is settled by temperature, not preference. Chocolate and chocolate-coated lines travel at +18/+20 °C. In hot months a refrigerated container is what we quote. If a dry container is preferred anyway, the temperature risk passes to the buyer in writing, before loading — not afterwards, over a bloomed pallet.
Lokum, sugared almonds and dragée, and jellies go dry all year, so a mixed list is built around the chocolate: those lines set the regime and the rest fits inside it.
Three things the offer has to name before you commit
The jar first: we supply a spread — a spread, not a cream, and not the 100% pistachio pastry paste a bakery buys for filling. That paste is outside the main range.
Then the coating: a shell is either chocolate or a cocoa glaze built on vegetable fat, which cannot be named as chocolate on the pack; the offer says which, line by line. Third, certificates are ours and carry our name; copies are available on request. Kosovo is outside the EU, so its own food and customs rules govern and the importer declares; the quotation states what applies on the day it is issued.
What to send
Send the three or four lines you want to test, roughly how much of each, and the format — bulk carton for a weigh-out counter, or retail sales box. Add the label language, your coating preference where a line can be either, and the delivery city. If the pack carries your own name, say so now: the label is drawn from our specification, and nothing prints without written approval(private label).
The written reply comes in two working days, line by line: specification, ingredients and allergens, net weight, case and pallet data, minimum per line, customs tariff heading. Payment is 50% at order and 50% before the container leaves, against loading photographs (how we work).
There is no published import table for Kosovo. How do you size a first order without one?
From the buyer’s shelf rather than from a national average. Which lines already move and at what price point, what turns and what sits, whether the counter sells by weight or by sales box, and whether the pull is everyday or gifting. Because the minimum is set per line, three or four lines can betested in one mixed load, and the sell-through from that load is the measurement the missing table would have given.
Can a first container really carry more than one line?
Yes, and that is the normal shape of it. The sales unit is a full container or truck, but the minimum is per line rather than per container, so six or seven items can travel in measured quantities, each on its own pallet under one packing list. Chocolate and chocolate-coated lines set the temperature regime at +18/+20 °C; lokum, dragée and jellies travel dry all year.
Is the pistachio jar the same product a pastry kitchen buys?
No. What we supply in the jar is a spread — a spread, not a cream — and it is not the 100% pistachio pastry paste used for filling. That paste sits outside the main range and can be supplied on request, with composition and format confirmed before an offer is made. Saying which of the two youmean at the enquiry stage prevents the most common mix-up on this line.
