Three phrases in sixty months
Sixty months is long enough for a category to leave a trace. On the Arabic side it leaves three phrases above twenty searches a month — not a small signal but an absent one: whatever demand exists is not written down in that language.
The English side looks healthier at about 720 a month, and that is the number to handle carefully: it counts typing, not buying, and the page underneath it settles which of the two it is.
What the result page says about who is asking
Run those English phrases and the shelf that comes back is built from trade-statistics pages: import tables, tonnage by year, partner-country breakdowns from the same customs data. Suppliers are not listed, because nobody arranging a container reads that page.
Treat it as a diagnostic, not a complaint: a result page records who has asked before, and this one records researchers and students rather than importers. Ranking above an import table reaches nobody who buys.
The two shelves a buyer sees instead
Where a buyer does look is one of two rooms, and both insert a step. Searched in Arabic, the category fills with Gulf and Saudi online retail: consumer packs, consumer prices, no domain from this market itself. Searched in a European language, it returns French and Spanish wholesalers holding stock bought upstream.
Both mean the goods arrive handled once already, in a pack chosen for another market, at a price carrying somebody else’s margin. A container quoted from the producing country removes that step, and needs no keyword to be true.
Deciding from the table and the channel
With the search channel closed, two inputs remain. The import table says what the market already takes and in what order of volume — enough to decide whether to quote. It does not say who to call.
The channel does. Enquiries here arrive by introduction: someone who has bought before, a trader consolidating for the region, a family firm that has imported for years. So this page is not written to be found by a buyer deciding what to buy. It is written to be read after the introduction, by someone deciding whether an offer is worth asking for.
What a written offer has to settle
Read the rest as a frame, not a pitch: five things are fixed before a price means anything.
- Who produces. Production runs in our own factory; each line is specified, and certificates are issued for our factory.
- Which format. Bulk carton, retail box or jar — one sweet in three formats is three quotations. The jar line is a spread.
- The minimum. Set per line and written into the offer, neverimplied.
- The load. Chocolate and chocolate-coated lines travel under temperature control, lokum, dragée and jelly dry, so a mixed load is planned rather than assumed.
- The label. Panel content and the company named on the pack belong to the arrival market, and a coating made on vegetable fat is a compound glaze, not chocolate.
What to send so the answer can be written
The frame stays national: the importer of record files the entry and answers for the description given. The origin document and the rules that apply are named in the offer, as they stand on the day it is issued.
So send the lines to be quoted, the format for each, an indicative quantity, the port of arrival, and whether the pack stays in our standard pack or carries your brand — in which case nothing goes to print without written approval. We quote FCA Gaziantep, FOB Mersin, CIF or DAP; Gaziantep to Mersin is about three hours by road (how we work). Couverture, bulk chocolate by the kilo, raw nuts and dried fruit are sourced on request, with composition confirmed first.
There is almost no search demand for this category here. Does that mean there is no market?
It means there is no search channel, which is a different finding. Three Arabic phrases clear twenty searches a month over sixty months, and the English traffic lands on trade-statistics pages, so the people typing are researching rather than buying. What the market takes is read from the import table; who to quote comes through introduction.
Why do English searches return statistics sites instead of suppliers?
Because that is who has been asking in English. A result page records past demand, and here it records analysts and students rather than importers. It is a useful signal for a supplier: the effort belongs in a written offer sent through a channel, not in competing with an import table.
What do you need before you can send an offer?
The lines you want quoted, the format for each — bulk carton, retail box or jar — an indicative quantity, the port of arrival to be costed, and whether the pack stays in our standard pack or carries your brand. The reply states per line the minimum, the carton and pallet data, and the terms: FCA Gaziantep, FOB Mersin, CIF or DAP.
