Start from the column that already clears
Togo declared 3,044,764 US dollars of sugar confectionery for 2025 against 1,441,334 of chocolate, and Turkish origin is third on 4.72 per cent in the larger column, seventh on 1.86 in the smaller. A first box weighted towards dragées, Turkish delight and wrapped confectionery is weighted towards lines that already clear here.
Chocolate goes in too, as a named sample set beside what you stock, quoted line by line. A box built only from the untested half teaches you nothing afterwards (mixed container).
Every line is chosen twice
Once as a product, once as a format. The same dragée is a bulk carton for a wholesaler, a kilo bag for a sweet counter, a printed doypack for a shelf and a retail box for the occasion table — each a different case weight and price point.
Settle it before the quotation: format sets case weight, cases per pallet and the minimum per line. A list naming product and format comes back priced; one naming only the product comes back with questions. The jarred line is a spread, and is called that on the data sheet and in the price list.
What the carton carries besides the goods
It carries the label, and here the mandatory content is in French, with English alongside where your shelf wants it: food name, ingredients with allergens, metric net weight, storage conditions, your name and address as importer, the date marking.
For lines in our standard packs we confirm whatthe export pack already carries; for own-label lines the content is drawn from our technical data sheet and checked against your artwork before printing. A line coated in vegetable fat is a compound or a glaze on the sheet and in the price list, never chocolate — in the European Union such a coating may not be labelled chocolate at all.
One box, two temperatures
A mixed container is a mix of conditions as well as lines. Chocolate and chocolate-coated lines are quoted in a reefer through the warm months, while Turkish delight, dragées, jellies and wrapped confectionery travel dry, and both ride in one box.
The leg after discharge decides the balance. If the run to your warehouse is not cooled, say so while the offer is drafted: weight the box towards dry lines and put the chocolate references on a cooler month. If part of the load moves on past your warehouse, name that too — route, transit and document set are written differently.
What the offer states, line by line
It comes back in US dollars within two working days, answering per line rather than per container: net weight, case and pallet data, the minimum for that line, lead time and delivery term. Terms quoted are FCA Gaziantep, FOB Mersin, CIF or DAP; Mersin is about three hours from our factory by road.
Payment is by bank transfer, 50 per cent with the order and 50 per cent before the container leaves, against the loading photographs. Certificates are issued for our factory, so the offer names the holder and the certifying body, and the origin document in the form valid on the day.
Confirm these, then send the list
Settle the delivery point and whether its last leg is cooled; which lines stay in our standard packs and which carry yours; colours and season for occasion lines, since a colour is a production run rather than a packing choice. Couverture, bulk chocolate by the kilo, cocoa, raw nuts, dried fruit, halva, tahini and baklava sit outside the range: sourced on request, and we confirm composition and format before quoting.
Send the list — references, format, indicative quantity, delivery point — and the first container is priced against it (how we work).
How many lines can go in a first container?
As many as you want to test, because the minimum is set per line rather than per container. Chocolate, dragées, Turkish delight, wrapped confectionery and spreads in jars load together on one document set, and a reefer half and a dry half can share the same box. The practical limit is not the container; it is how many references you can actually read the result of once the box has been sold through.
Should a first box be mostly chocolate or mostly sweets?
On the declared figures, mostly sweets. Türkiye is third at 4.72 per cent of the sugar confectionery column and seventh at 1.86 per cent of the chocolate one, so the dragée, Turkish delight and wrapped lines are the ones with a route in already. Chocolate belongs in the same box as a named sample set placed beside what you stock, quoted line by line, rather than as the volume the box is built around.
Can you add a line that is not in your range to the same container?
Sometimes, and we say which before quoting rather than after. Couverture, bulk chocolate by the kilo, cocoa, raw nuts, dried fruit, halva, tahini, baklava and empty packaging are sourced on request: we confirm composition and format before quoting. Whatever is confirmed loads with the reston the same document set; whatever cannot be confirmed stays out of the offer.
