Türkiye is Albania’s first source in confectionery — and the opening is one shelf up

Albanian buyers do not need Turkish confectionery introduced to them. On the 2024 import record — 2025 is not published yet — Türkiye is the first source of sugar confectionery entering Albania: about 20.75% of a roughly 14.6 million dollar category, at 2.70 dollars a kilo. The origin is established, and what it is established at is the volume end of the shelf.

Home  /  Blog  /  Türkiye already leads sugar confectionery into Albania — but at the volume end of the shelf, which is exactly why the pistachio lines are a different conversation.  ·

What the 2024 numbers describe

Two categories, side by side. In sugar confectionery — lokum, dragée, jellies — Albania imported around 14.6 million dollars in 2024, Türkiye leading at roughly 20.75% and 2.70 dollars a kilo. Chocolate is larger, about 39.6 million dollars, and there Türkiye sits sixth with around 5.47%, at 3.82 dollars a kilo.

Nothing has to be argued from scratch, then. But the unit values say this trade has settled where price decides, and the same goods slightly cheaper only competes for that thin margin. The room is above it — background on the Albania market page.

Positioned on top of that trade, not against it

The lines worth the freight are the ones a price-led container does not carry: whole pistachio lokum, the nut visible in the cut face, not ground into the paste; double roasted lokum; kadayıf-wrapped lokum; and the dubai-style bar, pistachio cream with crisp kadayıf in a coated shell.

That bar is not a dearer version of something on the counter already: a different item, bought for a different reason, judged on format and content rather than price per kilo. The range is on the confectionery page, the lokum lines on the special lokum page.

The minimum is per line, which is what makes a first order possible

The sales unit is a full container or truck; there is no part load. But the minimum is set per line and written into the offer — not per container. That difference decides how cautious a first order can be.

It means one load can carry six or seven items in measured quantities instead of one item nobody wants to sit on. Each line travels on its own pallet under one packing list, so it arrives separable and sellable. How the load is built is on the mixed container page.

Temperature decides which lines share the load

Chocolate and chocolate-coated lines travel at +18/+20 °C. In hot months a refrigerated container is what we quote. If a dry container is preferred instead, the temperature risk passes to the buyer in writing, before loading — not after a bloomed pallet is opened in Durrës.

Lokum, sugared almonds and dragée, and jellies go dry all year, so a mixed load is built around the chocolate lines: they set the regime and the rest fits inside it. That is settled at quotation stage, not at the loading bay.

Naming, the jar, and whose name the certificates carry

Two labels are worth stating plainly. Coating: a shell is either chocolate or a cocoa glaze built on vegetable fat — and a glaze is not chocolate, so it cannot be named as chocolate on the pack. The jar: we supply a spread, not a pastry cream and not a 100% pistachio pastry paste for filling — a different product, outside the main range.

Certificates are issued for our factory; copies are available on request. Albania is not in the EU: Albanian food and customs rules govern and the importer files the declaration. The offer names the customs tariff heading per line and states what applies on the day it is issued.

What to send

Send the lines you want and roughly how much of each — retail sales box, or bulk carton for the weigh-out counter — plus your coating preference, the label language and the delivery city. Ask for samples against the technical specification before anything is committed.

You get a written reply in two working days, line by line: technical specification, ingredients and allergens, net weight, case and pallet data, minimum per line, customs tariff heading. Payment is 50% at order and 50% before the container leaves, against loading photographs.

Türkiye is already first in Albanian confectionery imports. Why does another Turkish range matter?

Because of where that trade sits. On the 2024 figures Türkiye led sugar confectionery into Albania at about 20.75%, at 2.70 dollars a kilo — the price-led end. The pistachio lokum lines, the kadayıf lines and the dubai-style bar are a different item on the shelf rather than a cheaper version of the same one, so they are bought for a different reason and sold to a different customer.

Does A.TR or EUR.1 apply to a shipment to Albania?

No. Albania is not in the European Union, so those documents are not what moves this cargo. Albanian food and customs rules govern, and the importer files the declaration. The offer names the customs tariff heading for each line and states what applies on the day it is issued.

Can one container hold several different lines?

Yes — that is the normal shape of a first order. The sales unit is a full container or truck, but the minimum is set per line, so six or seven items can travel in measured quantities, each onits own pallet under one packing list. Chocolate lines set the temperature regime at +18/+20 °C; lokum, dragée and jellies travel dry all year.

How to order

Send the list. We do the rest.

Send your product list with approximate quantities and the destination port. You get one offer covering every line, then one container, loaded and photographed before the doors close.
