Wholesale candy vendors, distributors and manufacturers: where a Turkish exporter fits

American buyers type four different phrases for the same task, and they do not mean the same thing. Here is which link in the chain we occupy, what an importer gets in the offer, and how a carton gets from a Gaziantep line into your warehouse.

Home  /  Blog  /  Vendor, supplier, distributor, manufacturer: four searches, four different links. We are the manufacturer and the exporter, with nobody in the middle.  ·

Four phrases bring American buyers to the same shelf: wholesale candy vendors, wholesale candy suppliers, candy distributors wholesale, and wholesale candy manufacturers. They are searched almost equally, and most of the pages that rank answer all four the same way. They are not the same link in the chain. A manufacturer runs the line. A distributor holds stock in a US warehouse and breaks it into cases. A vendor or supplier is simply whoever invoices you, which can be either of the first two, or an exporter standing between them.

We are both. Antep Foods is a manufacturer and exporter in Gaziantep: our own chocolate lines, dragée pans and lokum kitchen, and we ship the container ourselves.

Why every line is specified

An exporter that hides where its goods are made creates a problem for a US importer; our FDA facility registration is for our own factory. The food facility registration is held by our factory, with a US agent. So every line in our offer carries our factory's registration. Your file then points at the facility that actually made the goods, not at a trading company.

Prior notice and supplier verification sit with the importer of record. What we do is feed that file: a technical data sheet per product, our certificates, and lot traceability from the carton back to the batch it came out of.

What a US distributor gains by buying at origin

Buying at origin rather than from a domestic wholesaler changes three things for a distributor.

  • Price is at the factory gate, without the second margin a US wholesaler has to add.
  • There is one document set for the whole load, whatever it contains, and one customs entry instead of four separate purchases.
  • Lines travel mixed in one container, each on its own pallet, so receiving counts pallets rather than sorting loose cartons.

On duty, we do not guess: the offer states the tariff line and the duty that applies on the day. There is no free trade agreement between the United States and Türkiye, so that figure belongs in your landed cost from the first calculation, not at the end of it.

Where the carton comes from, and on what terms

The chain behind a carton is short and we keep it visible. The producer packs to the agreed case count and marking. The goods come to our consolidation point, where each line is palletised separately and photographed. You see those pallet photos before the container is closed and sealed.

Terms are the same for every buyer. We quote within two business days, in US dollars, FCA Gaziantep, FOB Mersin, CIF or DAP. Payment is half with the order and half against the loading photographs, before the container leaves. Chocolate moves in a reefer during the hot months, and we say so in the offer rather than hoping for a mild crossing.

Names on a US label, and what we do not claim to stock

Product names matter more in the United States than in most markets, because standards of identity define what a name means. A vegetable fat coating cannot be sold as chocolate, so our offer marks each line as chocolate or compound and you know which one you are pricing. Labels are in English, with the Nutrition Facts panel and the allergen statement prepared to US rules. In private label we prepare that artwork, and nothing goes to print until you have approved it.

Two naming habits are worth knowing. Our pistachio jars are a spread and we call them that on the label, although American buyers usually search for pistachio cream or pistachio butter. And couverture or bulk chocolate by the kilo is not part of our standing range: like raw pistachios, nuts, dried fruit, halva and spices, it is sourced on request, and we confirm composition and format before quoting.

Are you a wholesale candy manufacturer or a distributor?

Neither. Antep Foods is a manufacturer and exporter in Gaziantep. The chocolate, dragee, lokum and confectionery lines are made in our own factory, and each line in our offer is written with its lot, so you always know when it ran.

Who handles the FDA side, you or us?

The food facility registration belongs to the factory, held with a US agent; we do not hold one for them. Prior notice and supplier verification stay with the importer of record. Our job is to supply what that file needs: technical data sheets per product, our certificates, and lot traceability.

What does a first shipment look like?

One full container with the lines you choose, each line on its own pallet. We quote within two business days in US dollars, FCA Gaziantep, FOB Mersin, CIF or DAP. Payment is half with the order and half against the loading photographs before the container leaves, and chocolate travels in a reefer in the hot months.

Can you supply bulk couverture or chocolate by the kilo?

That sits outside our standing range. It is sourced on request, and we confirm composition and format before quoting, the same way we handle raw pistachios, nuts, dried fruit, halva and spices.

How to order

Send the list. We do the rest.

Send your product list with approximate quantities and the destination port. You get one offer covering every line, then one container, loaded and photographed before the doors close.
