What goes into the first box, and what the offer says about it

A first container is not a smaller version of a standing programme. It is the order that tells you which lines your shelf actually takes. One box leaves Gaziantep carrying chocolate, dragées, Turkish delight, wrapped confectionery and spreads in jars, from producers a short drive apart, on one order and one document set. What follows is how that load is assembled: which lines, in which format, what the carton carries, and what the offer commits to in writing.

Mixed, because the first order is a question

A single-line container answers nothing. Fill it with one tablet and you learn how that tablet moves, and nothing about the lines beside it.

Mixing is what makes a first load readable. Chocolate, dragées, Turkish delight, wrapped confectionery and jars travel together from our own factory on one order and one document set, the minimum per line rather than per container (mixed container). A short run of one reference and a pallet of another sit in the same box, and the reorder writes itself from whatever emptied first.

Format is decided before the flavour is

The same chocolate sells three ways, depending on the wrapper. A single bar belongs to the kiosk and the street trade; a tablet or printed gift box to the supermarket; a doypack of dragées sits between them, and a jar of spread stands apart from all three.

Format decides the channel, the price per kilo and how much of the box a line takes. The only sweet vocabulary the search here turns up is a pastry counter’s, éclairs at 50 a month and pain au chocolat at 40, and that counter buys small formats.

How much of the box is chocolate

The two import columns here are not the same size. On 2024 mirror figures — other countries’ export records added up, since this market publishes none of its own — chocolate is worth about 13,444,024 US dollars against 6,500,207 of sugar confectionery: a direction, not a settled number.

The chocolate column is held at 72.2 per cent by one origin, which is why a second source starts as a few pallets rather than a whole load. Temperature splits the box as well: chocolate lines are quoted in a reefer year round on this equatorial route, while Turkish delight, dragées and jellies travel dry — both ship in one container.

The carton, and what is printed on it

A line is not priced until its carton is described: units per case, net weight, case weight and cases per pallet, stated per line, decide how many references fit before the box is full.

The panel is prepared in French, English alongside where the shelf wants it: the name of the food, ingredients with allergens, metric net weight, storage conditions, the importer’s name and address, and the date marking. Own-label content comes from our data sheet, and nothing printsbefore you approve the artwork. Two words stay apart: a vegetable-fat coating is a compound, which cannot be labelled chocolate in the European Union, and the jar line is a spread.

What the offer commits to in writing

The offer comes back line by line: technical data sheet, ingredients and allergens, net weight, case and pallet data, the proposed tariff heading, the lead time and the delivery term — FCA Gaziantep, FOB Mersin, CIF or DAP, Mersin being about three hours from our factory by road (how we work).

Certificates are issued for our factory; copies are available on request, the certifying body named per line. The customs file is national, the offer states what applies on the day, and the importer holds the registration and files the consignment.

Confirm these before the first order

Send the references you want priced and the format for each — wrapped bar, tablet, doypack, kilo carton, printed box or jar — with an indicative quantity per line, the discharge port and, if the box moves inland, the delivery point, and whose brand the pack carries.

Couverture, bulk chocolate by the kilo, raw nuts, dried fruit, cocoa, baklava, halva and tahini sit outside the range: sourced on request, with composition and format confirmed before quoting. A line thatcannot be confirmed stays out of the offer.

How many lines can one first container hold?

As many as the box takes, because the minimum is set per line rather than per container. That is the point of loading mixed: a short run of one reference and a pallet of another travel together from our own factory on one order and one document set, so the first load reads as a test of the shelf instead of a bet on a single wrapper. Send the references and an indicative quantity per line, and the case and pallet data comes back with the price.

Can chocolate and Turkish delight share the same box?

Yes. Chocolate and chocolate-coated lines are quoted in a reefer year round on this route because there is no cool season to ship through, while Turkish delight, dragées, jellies and wrapped confectionery travel dry, and both halves load into the same container. Where the final leg or the shelf is genuinely hot, compound-coated lines hold up better — and compound is quoted, labelled and priced as compound, never as chocolate.

What has to be settled before production starts?

The line list with the format and carton data per reference, the label content in French with your artwork approved in writing for own-label lines, the delivery term and discharge point, and the importer named on the pack. From our side the offer carries the technical data sheet and the analysis report; certificates are issued for our factory, with the certifying body identified.Anything outside the range is sourced on request and confirmed before it is quoted.

How to order

Send the list. We do the rest.

Send your product list with approximate quantities and the destination port. You get one offer covering every line, then one container, loaded and photographed before the doors close.
