Who holds what
The importer holds the import licence where the line needs one and is registered with the food authority, and clears the consignment at Colombo. As the Turkish producer we do not register in Sri Lanka; we supply the technical data sheet, our certificates and the analysis report per line, sent before the deposit so the importer’s side runs first. What applies to each line on the day, licence, levy and inspection, is stated in the offer, because it changes; nothing about it is printed on this site.
The inspection
The standards institution’s import inspection applies to the lines that fall under it, and the offer states which lines those are and what the inspection needs per line, so nothing is loaded that cannot clear. An importer that has cleared our lines once clears the next lines faster, because the data sheets and the inspection history are already on file, and the inspection date is planned into the lead time on the offer.
The three-language label
An English label, with the Sinhala and Tamil the importer adds as the rules ask: the name of the food, the ingredient list with allergens, metric net weight, storage, the production and expiry dates and the importer’s name and address. For lines in our standard packs we confirm what the export pack carries and what the importer adds as a sticker; for private label we prepare the content in the three languages and the importer checks the Sinhala and Tamil before printing. The Sri Lankan private label page goes through it.
Customs, documents and the route
There is no free trade agreement between Sri Lanka and Türkiye; the offer states the tariff line per product and the duty and levies that apply on the day. The commercial set is the invoice, the packing list per pallet, the certificate of origin, the analysis report and, for pistachio lines, an aflatoxin certificate, listed on the how we work page. Sea freight from Mersin to Colombo, with the transshipment and the transit stated in the offer. The certificate of origin is issued for every shipment the same way, and the analysis report is per lot, so the second container needs nothing the first did not.
The reefer and the two shelves
The route and the shelf are warm in every season, so chocolate lines are quoted in a reefer year round and stated as chocolate; compound-coated lines that go to the grocery shelf are stated as compound; Turkish delight, sugared almonds and jellies travel dry. The date format on the pack is confirmed on the artwork before printing. The mixed-container page explains how the load is built, and the Sri Lanka page lists what stays the same on every offer.
Asking for a price
Send the references from the product pages, the quantity per line and the destination port. The written offer follows within two working days, the case weight and the minimum stated for each.
Samples come free from our running production; the courier is on your account and paid before dispatch. The sri lanka: what stays the same on every offer page lists what stays the same on every offer, and the private label page covers putting your own name on the pack.
