A supply category, not a gift category
Open those results and you rarely find couples browsing finished favours. You find the workshops assembling them, and the suppliers selling those workshops their materials: tulle, boxes, ribbon, tags — and, at the centre of every favour, the sugared almonds.
So the line is worth drawing first: we supply the carton, not the finished μπομπονιέρα. Sugared almonds and chocolate dragées leave Gaziantep in bulk cartons, separated by colour and calibre. Tulle, box and ribbon are assembled on your bench, by the people whose design the customer pays for.
Where a Turkish carton already sits
Two customs headings tell two stories. In sugar confectionery without cocoa — where sugared almonds belong — Türkiye is tenth in Greek imports with 2.98%: a lane Greek buyers already use, at working prices.
Chocolate is the opposite shape. Türkiye holds fourteenth place and 0.97%, yet lands at $12.14 per kilo, above Germany at $8.66, Belgium at $7.47 and Italy at $7.45. Nobody rises above the volume leaders by selling the same product cheaper. Nut centres and hand-finished work carry their cost in the kernel, not in the sugar.
What is actually inside a dragée
A dragée is two decisions: the centre — almond, pistachio, hazelnut or a chocolate core — and the coating over it. A classic κουφέτο is a sugar shell built in thin layers over a whole almond; a chocolate dragée is a chocolate centre under a sugar or polished shell, which is why the two behave differently in a warm room.
The coating also decides what the pack may say. Made with vegetable fat instead of cocoa butter it is a cocoa glaze, and inside the EU an item covered in it cannot be labelled as chocolate. The quote states line by line which one an item carries, so the label follows the specification.
Colour and calibre are confirmed at the line
Shade is not a catalogue matter. Ivory, champagne, dusty pink, powder blue and metallic finishes vary between producers and lines, and a workshop matching κουφέτα to a printed tag will see a half-tone. Calibre — how many pieces make a kilo — decides how a tulle bundle sits and how full a favour looks.
Both are verified before a quote goes out, not after: send your shade references and calibre, and we confirm line by line what is genuinely running. What cannot be confirmed does not go into the quote.
The christening trade — μπομπονιέρες βάπτισης — runs off the same lines. A boy's table and a girl's are a colour distribution, not a different product: same almond, same calibre, a different split across the cartons.
Building the first order
The sales unit is a full container or truck, and the minimum is set per line not per container. That inverts a first order: instead of one colour in depth, it carries three or four colours at their own minimums, in the calibres you bundle.
Dragées and lokum travel dry all year. Chocolate and chocolate-coated goods travel at +18/+20 °C; in hot months a refrigerated container is quoted, and if a dry one is preferred the temperature risk passes to the buyer in writing before loading. Greece is in the EU, so the goods move under an A.TR movement certificate, with the quote stating what duty applies on the day. Mandatory pack information is in Greek.
What to send us
Send the shade references you need — a printed tag or a fabric swatch — plus your calibre, the carton format, and the months your season peaks. If you want your own label on a line, say so now: it is prepared from our technical specification, and nothing goes to print without written approval.
A written quote follows within two working days, line by line: specification, ingredients and allergens, net weight, carton and pallet data, minimum, and tariff position. Certificates are held for our factory and copies are available on request. Start at Dragées.
Do you supply finished μπομπονιέρες?
No. We supply the carton — sugared almonds and chocolate dragées in bulk, separated by colour and calibre. Tulle, boxes, ribbon, tags and the assembly stay in the workshop, where the design work belongs. If you want your own name on a retail pack of dragées, that is private label on the carton contents and is handled separately, with written approval before printing.
How close a colour match is possible?
Close enough is decided before the quote, not after the container arrives. Send your shade references and we confirm line by line which colours and calibres are actually running in that format. If a shade is not running, we say so instead of putting it in the quote — that is the point of confirming at the line.
We need several colours but not a pallet of each. Is that possible?
Usually yes, because the minimum applies per line, not per container. A single container can therefore carry three or four colours at their own minimums, alongside other items such as lokum or chocolate lines. The quote states the minimum for each line, so you can build the mix before committing.
