Pasalubong
The gift brought home from a trip, from abroad or from another island, is a habit and an industry: pasalubong shops at airports, bus terminals and malls sell boxes that travel well and say where they came from. Imported chocolate boxes, mini-bar assortments, pistachio tablets and Turkish delight boxes fit it, because they keep, they carry a foreign name and they are priced by the box. The shops buy by the carton from importers and distributors; a shop group can have the box printed under its own name on selected lines. The airport shop wants the box that survives a flight and a week in a bag; the mall shop wants the one that photographs well.
Wedding giveaways
A Filipino wedding gives every guest a giveaway, and the giveaway company that packs it buys by the carton: chocolate dragées in milk and dark, sugared almonds in the couple’s colours, mini bars and mini tablets, and Turkish delight in small printed boxes for the guest who does not eat chocolate. The company packs under its own name, and the pouch, the box or the wrapper can be printed under its brand. The dragée page lists the colours; the origin article tells the almond’s story.
What the packer asks first
Colour and finish, because the giveaway is seen before it is tasted. Wrapped or loose. Shelf life on the data sheet, because the wedding is booked months ahead and the room is warm. Price per piece, because the giveaway is budgeted per guest. And the carton: one product, one colour, a case weight a packer can carry. All of it is stated per line in the offer; the Philippine private label page lists the formats.
The warm shelf
Both trades live on a warm shelf. Sugared almonds, wrapped sweets and Turkish delight store dry; chocolate dragées and minis are stored cold by the importer and travel in a reefer year round on the Manila route; compound-coated lines tolerate the shelf better and are stated as such on the offer. The chocolate or compound article explains why that matters more in the tropics than anywhere.
What to send first
The colours and the finish, the quantity per colour, wrapped or loose, the port, and whether the pack carries your brand. The written offer follows within two working days, in US dollars, with the registration documents named per line. The Philippines page lists what stays the same on every offer; the samples page explains how to taste the lines first.
Do you sell giveaways to couples directly?
The unit of sale is one full container; couples buy from the giveaway companies and wholesalers we quote.
Can we order dragées in one colour?
Yes. Cartons are packed by colour; mixes are also available. The colours per line are in the offer.
Which lines suit a pasalubong shelf without a fridge?
Turkish delight boxes, sugared almonds and wrapped sweets store dry; compound-coated chocolate tolerates the shelf better than real chocolate and is stated as such.
