Pistachio from Gaziantep for Iraqi importers: chocolate, spread and the lokum roll

Iraqi buyers search for Gaziantep and pistachio in the same breath, in Arabic and in English. The city is the centre of Turkish pistachio, and we make the lines that carry it: pistachio chocolate, pistachio spread, the pistachio lokum roll and the Dubai style bar.

Made where the pistachio grows

Gaziantep is the centre of Turkish pistachio, and our factory is next door to the orchards. That matters for two reasons. The pistachio in the tablet, the spread and the lokum roll is the local kernel, not a substitute; and the truck to Iraq leaves from next to the plant, through Habur to Zakho and on to Erbil, Mosul and Baghdad. The Gaziantep page explains why one city can fill one truck with five product groups. Iraqi buyers know the difference between Antep pistachio and the rest; the offer states the origin per product on the data sheet, and the sample settles the argument.

Pistachio chocolate

Milk and dark tablets with whole and crushed pistachio, pistachio bars, and the Dubai style bar with pistachio cream and kadayif that the Baghdad and Erbil trade has been asking for since the trend began. Producer brands or your own; chocolate lines travel at a controlled temperature, with a reefer truck for the warm months. The chocolate page lists the groups, and the Dubai chocolate article explains what is in the bar.

Pistachio spread

Pistachio spread in glass jars, from spreads with a high share of pistachio to milder hazelnut and cocoa blends, labelled as Antep pistachio. In Arabic the search is for pistachio butter and pistachio cream; the jar is the same. Jars can carry your own brand on selected lines, with the Arabic and English label prepared before printing. The pistachio page lists the formats. Jars travel dry, which makes the spread the easiest pistachio line to add to a truck.

The pistachio lokum roll

The Gaziantep speciality: a finger roll of Turkish delight filled with whole pistachio and coated in coconut or kadayif, cut to order, next to the classic dusted cube and the chocolate covered piece. It is the box the Iraqi gift trade asks for by name, and it travels dry all year. The Turkish delight page and the special lokum counter range belong to the same shelf.

Baklava and the rest, on request

Baklava from Gaziantep is the other thing Iraqi buyers ask for in the same breath. It is not a standard line on this site; it is sourced on request from the producers we know, with the producer’s own data sheet, and loaded in the same truck. The same goes for bulk pistachio nuts. The Iraq page lists what stays the same on every offer.

What to send

Start with the pistachio & regional page: pick the lines, say how many and name the port. The written offer follows within two working days and states what each line weighs by the carton and what the minimum is.

Tasting first is normal — samples are free from running production, you cover the courier. The iraq: what stays the same on every offer page lists what stays the same on every offer, and the private label page covers putting your own name on the pack.

Is the pistachio in the products from Gaziantep?

The producers are in Gaziantep and label the spread as Antep pistachio; the data sheet per product states the origin of the ingredients.

Can we get baklava in the same truck?

Yes, sourced on request from Gaziantep producers, with the producer’s own data sheet; it is not a standard line on this site.

Does pistachio spread travel in a reefer?

Jars travel dry at a moderate temperature; the chocolate lines in the same truck decide whether a reefer is quoted.

How to order

Send the list. We do the rest.
