Where it is found
Hong Kong meets Turkish delight on the delicatessen shelf, in the gift box brought back from a trip, at the Turkish restaurants of Central, Tsim Sha Tsui and Wan Chai that serve it with coffee, and in the question that appears on social media under every photo: anyone know where I can buy authentic Turkish delight in Hong Kong. That question is the gap an importer fills with one pallet in a mixed container. The delicatessen buys a case, the restaurant buys a carton, the gift company buys a pallet; all three are supplied by the same importer, and all three ask the same first question: is it the real thing from Türkiye, and which producer made it. The offer answers both per line.
The box from Gaziantep
Dusted cubes in rose, lemon and pomegranate, and the Gaziantep finger roll filled with whole pistachio and coated in coconut or kadayif, cut to order; chocolate covered pieces for the confectionery case. It is the gift that is neither chocolate nor mooncake, which is why it fits the Mid-Autumn and Chinese New Year box next to the pistachio tablet. The Turkish delight page lists the groups; the special lokum counter range belongs to the same shelf.
The restaurants
The Turkish restaurants of the city buy in what they do not make: boxed Turkish delight for the coffee service and the counter, the pistachio roll, dragées for the till. We do not name them; the trade knows them. We quote the importers and distributors that supply them, and a restaurant group that imports for itself. A restaurant group that imports usually adds the Dubai style bar to the same pallet.
Label and own brand
English or Chinese or both on the box, as the importer asks. A delicatessen chain or a gift company can have the box printed under its own name on selected lines, with the label content prepared from the data sheet and the artwork approved before printing. The Hong Kong private label page lists the formats.
How it travels
Plain and dusted lokum travels dry all year to Hong Kong. Chocolate covered pieces follow the chocolate rule on this route: a reefer year round, because the container crosses the tropics. Each line has its own pallet, so the Turkish delight box shares the container with dragées for favours and the Dubai style bar for the gift trade. The Hong Kong page lists what stays the same on every offer; the Turkish delight explained article covers the recipe and the varieties.
What to send
What we need to price it: the lines you want from the turkish delight page, how much of each, and where it lands. Two working days later the written offer comes back with the specification, the case weight and the minimum per line.
A sample goes out before any of that if you want to taste the lines first — free from running production, courier at your cost. The hong kong: what stays the same on every offer page lists what stays the same on every offer, and the private label for hong kong brands page covers putting your own name on the pack.
