One box, several lines, a minimum per line
One reference filling a whole box answers one question and buries the rest: you learn how that tablet sells, and nothing about the dragée, the Turkish delight or the jar beside it.
So the first load carries several lines at once — chocolate, dragées, Turkish delight, wrapped confectionery and spreads in jars — from producers a short drive apart, on one order and one document set, the minimum set per line rather than per container (mixed container). Whatever empties first on your shelf writes the second order.
Which half of the shelf the box should test
Nothing is published from this side, so the only view of these columns is the mirror one: what everyone else recorded as shipments in. A direction, not a settled figure.
On 2024 figures chocolate is the smaller column, about 8,308,756 US dollars, with Türkiye at roughly 33.81 per cent, Senegal 23.7 and India 9.7. Sugar confectionery is larger, about 14,090,887 dollars, filled from much further off: China 47.9 per cent, Morocco 16.3, India 12.2, Türkiye seventh at 1.83. A box loaded all chocolate tests the half already settled.
Format is settled before the flavour is
Format decides the channel before flavour does: a single bar belongs to the kiosk trade, a tablet or printed box to the supermarket, a doypack of dragées between them.
The only sweet vocabulary the counting turned up belongs to a pastry counter. Out of 384 raw English phrases seven cleared the threshold, about 170 searches a month: éclairs at 40, pain au chocolat at 30, then 20 each for the spellings circling baklava and for the pistachio-filled bar. French returned 483 raw phrases with nothing above the threshold. A pastry counter buys small formats.
The carton, and what is printed on the pack
Nothing is priced until its carton is described — units per case, net weight, case weight, cases per pallet — and those figures decide how many references fit before the box is full.
In French, the panel carries the name of the food, the ingredient list with allergens, metric weight, storage conditions, the importer’s name and address, and the date marking. For own-label lines it is drafted from our data sheet, and the artwork waits for your written approval. A coatingmade with vegetable fat stays a compound or a glaze wherever it is named; in the European Union it cannot be labelled chocolate at all. The jar line is a spread.
Chilled, dry, and what the box cannot carry
A coastline means discharge here rather than a border crossing first. Through the warm months the chocolate and chocolate-coated lines are quoted in a reefer, while Turkish delight, dragées and jellies travel dry; both halves load into one container. If the leg after the port is long, say so before the mix is built.
Couverture, bulk chocolate by the kilo, cocoa, baklava, halva and tahini sit outside the range and are sourced on request, composition and format confirmed before we quote. Cocoa included — it grows here, and it is still outside what we make.
What the offer states, and what to send
Every line of the offer carries the same fields: net weight, case and pallet data, the proposed tariff heading, and the delivery term — FCA Gaziantep, FOB Mersin, CIF or DAP, Mersin about three hours from our factory by road (how we work).Certificates are issued for our factory. What applies on the day is stated inthe offer, and the importer holds the registration and files the consignment.
Send the references you want priced with the format for each — wrapped bar, tablet, doypack, kilo carton, printed box or jar — an indicative quantity per line, the discharge port and whose brand the pack carries.
How many different lines can one first container hold?
As many as the box takes, because the minimum is set per line rather than per container. That is the point of loading mixed: a short run of one reference and a pallet of another travel from our own factory onone order and one document set, so the load reads as a test of the shelf instead of a bet on one wrapper. Send the references with an indicative quantity per line, and the case and pallet data comes back with the price.
Cocoa grows here. Can you load cocoa or couverture in the same box?
Not as part of the range. Couverture, bulk chocolate by the kilo, cocoa, raw nuts, dried fruit, baklava, halva and tahini sit outside what we make, and they are sourced on request: composition and format are confirmed before we quote, and anything that cannot be confirmed stays out of the offerrather than being promised. What is confirmed loads alongside the finished lines in the same container.
What has to be confirmed before the first order goes into production?
The line list with the format and carton data per reference; the label content in French, with your artwork approved in writing for own-label lines; the delivery term and the discharge point; and the importer named on the pack. From our side the offer carries the technical data sheet and the analysis report, while certificates are issued for our factory with thecertifying body identified.
