Importing chocolate from Türkiye to Singapore: what the supplier side looks like

An importer wants to know what to hold and what the supplier must send before a container clears in Singapore. Here is the split, and the re-export question that follows it. Re-export from the same carton is normal on this route, which is why the label content is settled before printing rather than after the first sale. Every line is specified.

Who holds what

The importer holds the food import licence with the Singapore Food Agency and registers the products before they land. The Turkish producer does not register in Singapore. That splits the work: the importer builds its licence and registrations; the supplier sends what those need so the file points at the right plant. The details change; the offer states what applies on the day.

The label

An English label with the name of the food, the ingredient list with allergens, the nutrition information panel where required, metric net quantity, storage, best-before wording and the importer’s name and address in Singapore. For lines in our standard packs we confirm what the export pack carries and what the importer adds; for private label we prepare the content from the data sheet and check the artwork before printing. The Singapore private label page goes through it.

Halal, from a recognised body

Singapore’s halal authority recognises foreign certifying bodies by name, and the importer’s file names the body. Our certificates are held for our factory; the offer names the holder and the body for every line and attaches copies; lines without a certificate are stated as such. The halal article explains what a certifier checks in confectionery.

Customs, documents and the reefer

There is no free trade agreement between Singapore and Türkiye; the offer states the tariff line for each product and what applies on the day, and nothing about duty is printed on this site. The document set is the commercial invoice, packing list per pallet, certificate of origin, analysis report and, for pistachio lines, an aflatoxin certificate, listed on the how we work page. Sea freight from Mersin to Singapore crosses the tropics in every season, so chocolate lines are quoted in a reefer year round; dry lines travel dry. Each line has its own pallet; the mixed-container page explains how the load is built.

Re-export from Singapore

Many containers landed in Singapore do not stay. Malaysia, Indonesia and the wider region are served from the city, and a re-export list has its own questions: the label language of the second market, the halal body it recognises, the shelf life left after the second leg. We state all three per line when the list says re-export, so the second leg is planned with the first.

What to send first

The product references, the quantity per line, whether the list is for Singapore or for re-export, whether any line carries your own brand and whether it must be halal-certified from named bodies. The written offer follows within two working days, in US dollars,, the certificate holder and the data sheet named per line. The Singapore page lists what stays the same on every offer.

Every line here is made in our own factory at Başpınar OSB, Gaziantep — a 10,000 m² site, exporting since 2002 — and certificate copies are available on request.

Does the producer need Singapore registration?

No. The importer holds the licence and registers the products; we supply the data sheet, its certificates and lot traceability, named per line.

Which halal bodies are recognised in Singapore?

The importer checks the body named per line in the offer against the Singapore halal authority’s list before ordering; we name the body so that check can be made.

Can the same container serve re-export?

Yes, from the importer’s side. For a re-export list we state the label language, the halal body and the shelf life per line so the second leg is planned with the first.

How to order

Send the list. We do the rest.

Send your product list with approximate quantities and the destination port. You get one offer covering every line, then one container, loaded and photographed before the doors close.
