The free trade agreement
There is a free trade agreement in force between Mauritius and Türkiye, and chocolate and confectionery travel with the movement certificate it provides for, issued in Türkiye with the shipping documents. The offer states the tariff line for each product and what applies to it on the day; nothing about duty is printed on this site, because it changes. What the agreement gives an importer is a landed cost that competitors on the same shelf from elsewhere do not have, and the offer puts that number in front of you before the order.
Who holds what
The importer holds the import permit where the line needs one and is registered with the food safety authority, and clears the consignment at Port Louis, where it is checked. As the Turkish producer we do not register in Mauritius; we supply the technical data sheet, our certificates and the analysis report per line, sent before the deposit. Where a certificate is asked for that we do not hold, the offer says so before the deposit.
The label
A label in English or French, or both: the name of the food, the ingredient list with allergens, metric net weight, storage, the production and expiry dates and the importer’s name and address. For lines in our standard packs we confirm what the export pack carries and what the importer adds; for private label we prepare the content in the language you name, and the date format is confirmed on the artwork before printing. The Mauritian private label page goes through it.
Documents, the route and the reefer
The commercial set is the invoice, the packing list per pallet, the movement certificate, the analysis report and, for pistachio lines, an aflatoxin certificate, listed on the how we work page. Sea freight from Mersin to Port Louis, with the transshipment port and the transit stated in the offer. The route crosses the tropics in every season, so chocolate lines are quoted in a reefer year round; Turkish delight, sugared almonds and jellies travel dry. The mixed-container page explains how the load is built.
The timeline
Documents first, then the deposit, then production, then the reefer. An importer that has cleared our lines once clears the next lines faster, because the data sheets and the label content are already on file, and the movement certificate is issued for every shipment the same way. Because the agreement is already in force, there is nothing to apply for on the importer’s side beyond the permit and the registration; the certificate travels with the goods, and the saving is on the invoice from the first container. The Mauritius page lists what stays the same on every offer.
Asking for a price
A first message is short: references from the product pages, quantities, port. The offer that comes back is not — it carries the specification, the pallet plan and the minimum, line by line.
Samples are free from our running production and the courier is paid before dispatch. The mauritius: what stays the same on every offer page lists what stays the same on every offer, and the private label page covers putting your own name on the pack.
Is there duty on chocolate from Türkiye into Mauritius?
There is a free trade agreement in force and the goods travel with its movement certificate; what applies to each line on the day is stated in the offer, not on this site.
Does the Turkish producer register in Mauritius?
No. The importer holds the permit and the registration; we supply the data sheet, certificates and analysis report per line, named in the offer.
Is the container a reefer?
For chocolate lines, yes, year round on this route. Dry lines travel dry; a mixed load is quoted as the offer states.
