Who is responsible for what
In the United Kingdom the importer is the food business responsible for the product once it is on the market: registered with its local authority, keeping the supplier file, answering for the label. The Turkish producer does not register with a UK authority. That splits the work into two piles. The importer builds its own file; the supplier sends what that file needs so the file points at the right plant. Our job is the second pile.
The trade agreement and the origin proof
The United Kingdom and Türkiye have a trade agreement. Whether a product enters under preferential terms depends on its origin proof, issued for each product on the basis of where and how it was made. The offer states the tariff line for every line and what applies on the day of quotation; nothing about duty is printed on this site, because it changes and the offer does not. The origin proof travels with the document set, next to the certificate of origin.
The label
An English label with the ingredient list and allergens emphasised, the nutrition declaration, metric net quantity, best-before wording and the name and address of the UK food business responsible. For lines in our standard packs we confirm what the export pack already carries and what the importer adds; for own label we prepare the content to UK rules and check the artwork before printing. The UK own label page goes through it step by step.
The data sheet and the certificates
Our technical data sheet is the source for the label, the supplier file and the answer to most questions: ingredients in order, allergens, shelf life, storage, the name the recipe is entitled to. Certificates, food-safety, halal and kosher, are issued for our factory and named per line in the offer. Halal matters in the UK trade more than in most markets, and it is handled by naming the holder, not by a blanket claim.
Documents and the route
Commercial invoice, packing list per pallet, certificate of origin, origin proof under the agreement, the analysis report, and an aflatoxin certificate where the product asks for it, pistachio lines in particular; the full set is on the how we work page. Sea freight from Mersin to Felixstowe, Southampton or London Gateway, Liverpool for the north; a trailer through Europe is quoted on request when the list suits it. Chocolate lines travel at a controlled temperature, with a reefer for the warm months; each line has its own pallet. The mixed-container page explains how the pallets are built.
What to send first
The product references from the product pages, the quantity per line, the destination port, whether any line carries your own label and whether you need a halal-certified list. The written offer follows within two working days,, the certificate holder and the data sheet named per line. The United Kingdom page lists what stays the same on every offer.
Every line here is made in our own factory at Başpınar OSB, Gaziantep — a 10,000 m² site, exporting since 2002 — and certificate copies are available on request.
Does the producer need to be registered in the UK?
No. The importer is the responsible food business; we supply the data sheet, its certificates and lot traceability, named per line in the offer.
Do we get the origin proof?
Yes. It is issued per product and travels with the document set, next to the certificate of origin; the offer states the tariff line per product.
Can the goods come by road instead of sea?
A trailer through Europe is quoted on request when the list suits it. Sea freight from Mersin is the standard route.
