Montenegro: a small market, a first container, and a minimum counted per line

Montenegro's confectionery table runs at roughly 12 million dollars a year. Against a number that size, a container carrying one reference is arithmetic almost nobody can defend: a year of shelf bought in one payment, on one bet. Yet the selling unit does not bend: a full container or a full truck, no part loads. The answer is not a smaller box. Production is not counted in containers. It is counted in lines.

The table is small, and one line will not fill a box

A national confectionery table of around 12 million dollars is not a rounding error, but it is not pallet-deep either. Spread across chocolate, sugar confectionery and the peaks of a coastal summer, it leaves almost no single reference with enough annual turnover to earn a container of its own.

That is the honest starting point, and it changes nothing about how goods travel. What is negotiable is what goes inside the box.

How a mixed container is actually built

A mixed load is not a box with everything tipped in. Each line rides on its own pallet, with its own case and pallet data, under a single packing list and one set of shipping documents.

The load is organised by temperature group before anything else, then by format, since a bulk case for a weigh-out counter stacks differently from a retail box. Lines are settled one at a time — specification, quantity, format — and only then is the container filled.

The minimum is per line, not per container

Here the arithmetic stops being frightening. The minimum is set per line and written into the quotation — not per container. A first order therefore clears six or seven modest thresholds instead of one enormous one.

It works because the box is not filled by one buyer: your lines travel in the same load as lines running in our standard packs. Selected lines can carry your own label after our confirmation, drawn from the technical specification; nothing goes to print without written approval.

Temperature, and which month you load

Chocolate and chocolate-coated goods travel at +18 to +20 °C. In the hot months a refrigerated container is offered; if a dry one is preferred anyway, that risk passes to the buyer in writing, before loading.

Lokum and dragées go dry all year, and so do sugared almonds, gelled sweets and popping candy. For a small first order that is a lever: a load leaving in the cool months can carry chocolate dry, while a summer load leans on the dry references or goes conditioned.

A spread is not a paste, and a glaze is not chocolate

Two names settle more arguments than any price list. The pistachio product in jars is often searched for as a cream; what ships is a spread, and it is not a 100 per cent pâtisserie paste. If you need a pastry ingredient rather than a jar for the shelf, say so early: composition and format are confirmed first.

The second name is the coating. Avegetable-fat glaze is not chocolate and cannot be named as chocolate on the label, whatever the photograph suggests. Line by line the quotation states which one is on the product, so the label follows the composition, not a marketing word.

What to send

Certificates are held for our factory; copies are available on request. Montenegro is not an EU member, so entry runs on the country's own food and customs rules, and the declarations are filed by the importer. On duty, the quotation states what applies on the day it is issued, against the tariff position for each line.

Send this: the lines, a quantity and format against each, the destination and the loading month. The written quotation follows within two working days — technical specification, ingredients and allergens, net weight, case and pallet data, minimum, tariff position. Payment is 50 per cent at order and 50 before the container leaves, against loading photographs.

Our market is small. Can we realistically take a whole container?

Yes, provided you stop treating it as one product. The selling unit is a full container or a full truck, with no part loads, but the minimum is set per line and written into the quotation — notper container. Six or seven lines in measured quantity can each clear their own minimum and travel together, in the same load as lines running in our standard packs.

Is the pistachio product in jars a pâtisserie paste?

No. It is sold as a spread, whatever term it is searched under, and it is not a 100 per cent pâtisserie paste. If you need a pastry ingredient rather than a jar for the shelf, say so at the enquiry stage: composition and format are confirmed before a quotation is written.

Whose name is on the certificates, and who files the customs declaration?

Certificates are held for our factory; we state line by line who holds whatand pass the copy on. Montenegro is not an EU member, so the goods enter under the country's own food and customs rules and the declarations are filed by the importer. On duty, the quotation states what applies on the day it is issued, against the tariff position given for each line.

How to order

Send the list. We do the rest.

Send your product list with approximate quantities and the destination port. You get one offer covering every line, then one container, loaded and photographed before the doors close.
