Route one: the domestic co-manufacturer
Short lead times, small runs, a plant you can visit, no biosecurity file. For a bar that needs a local recipe or a fast reorder, the co-manufacturer wins, and we say so. The limits are range and origin: a Turkish delight, a pistachio tablet and a coated dragée are three different plants, and a product that sells on being made in Türkiye cannot be made in Melbourne.
Route two: the container
A manufacturer and exporter in Gaziantep, putting our own lines under your brand and shipping one mixed container: pistachio chocolate, Turkish delight boxes, dragées, pistachio spread jars and lollies from our own factory on one order and one set of documents. The unit of sale is the container; the minimum per line is stated in the offer; the lead time is counted from the deposit and the approved artwork. The Australian private label page lists the formats.
The label, either way
The Food Standards Code applies to both routes: ingredients with allergens declared in plain English, the nutrition information panel, metric net quantity, the country of origin statement and the importer’s name and address. For the import route we prepare the content from our technical data sheet; you place it in your artwork and approve it in writing before anything is printed. Chocolate is a defined name; a compound coating is named as such. The chocolate or compound article explains the difference.
Biosecurity and the reefer
Two things the import route carries that the co-manufacturer does not. Biosecurity import conditions apply to lines with dairy and nuts; the importer checks them per line before ordering, with the data sheet and the dairy origin from us. And the route crosses the tropics in every season, so chocolate lines travel in a reefer year round; the offer prices it. Neither is a reason not to import; both are reasons to plan the first order as a mixed container rather than one bar.
When the container fits
When the range is the point, when the origin is the point, when the brand already sells Turkish or Middle Eastern lines and wants its own name on some of them, and when the volume fills a container across several lines. When none of that is true, the domestic co-manufacturer is the honest answer, and the private label brand article covers the business side either way. The Australia page lists what stays the same on every offer.
Asking for a price
What we need to price it: the lines you want from the chocolate page, how much of each, and where it lands. Two working days later the written offer comes back with the specification, the case weight and the minimum per line.
A sample goes out before any of that if you want to taste the lines first — free from running production, courier at your cost. The australia: what stays the same on every offer page lists what stays the same on every offer, and the private label for australian brands page covers putting your own name on the pack.
Can we start with one product?
The unit of sale is one full container. It can carry one private-label line together with lines in our standard packs, so the first order is a mixed container, not one product in bulk.
Who is responsible for the label in Australia?
The importer or brand named on the pack. We prepare the content from the data sheet and check the artwork; you approve it in writing.
Do you also make lollies under our brand?
On selected lines, as one of our core services: jellies, popping candy, wrapped mini biscuits and dragées, with the bag or box printed after approval.
