Turkish sweets in Ukraine: the category already exists — the question is what fills it

Ukrainian search does not treat турецькі солодощі as a curiosity. It behaves like a category — a phrase typed in the expectation of a list, and a heading online sellers already use to group a shelf. Underneath sit product names, not origin stories: Turkish delight first, baklava close behind. The channel exists and already imports. So the useful question is narrow: which line, in which format, at which minimum.

Home  /  Blog  /  In Ukraine «турецькі солодощі» is not a novelty but a working retail category — so the question is which line, in which format, at which minimum.  ·

A category that is already on the shelf

What comes back for the category phrase is not explanatory writing but listings — pages built as a category, with prices and ordering, beside the product names people actually type. Goods arrive under this heading every month, merchandised by someone who already knows how to sell them.

The trade picture splits usefully. In 2024 Ukraine imported 89.2 M$ of sugar confectionery: Poland first at 22.49%, Turkey second at 18.48%, 3.40 $/kg. Chocolate is another market — 199.4 M$, Poland 34.24%, Germany 12.60%, Turkey twelfth at 1.80%, 6.99 $/kg. Established in sugar confectionery, thin in chocolate: that asymmetry is what a container has to answer.

The two names that carry it — and only one is ours

Turkish delight is the anchor: in our range in four builds — plain, whole pistachio, double-roasted pistachio, wrapped in kadayıf — loose in bulk cases and in retail sales boxes. It travels dry all year, the easiest line to open with. See Turkish delight.

Baklava is the honest complication. In Ukraine it is searched commercially, with price and buying intent attached, not only as a recipe word. But baklava is not in our main range. It can be supplied on request, and then we confirm composition and format before a quote goes out.

The formats this channel actually takes

A buyer here usually runs two packaging worlds at once: the retail sales box, and bulk inner packaging for the weighed shelf — pick-and-mix by the kilo, where jelly sweets and popping candy in bulk cases and chocolate dragées earn their place. The same production line feeds both; the difference is decided at the order.

Where the shelf should carry the buyer's own name, private label runs on selected lines after our confirmation, label text prepared from our technical specification — nothing goes to print without written approval. See private label.

The Dubai bar: state the coating first

The Dubai-style bar has arrived in Ukrainian search under its own name, and it adds rather than substitutes. The pistachio-and-kadayıf filled bar is in our range.

One specification decides how it may be sold: is the coating real chocolate, or a cocoa-flavoured glaze on vegetable fat? A vegetable-fat glaze is not chocolate and cannot be described as chocolate on the label. Both are legitimate, with different costs and behaviour in heat; the quote names which one a line carries.

The pistachio jar is a spread, not a pastry paste

Search around фісташкова паста is mostly not asking for what we sell. In that phrasing the product is usually the 100% confectioner's paste, bought by the kilo by pastry kitchens as an ingredient. That paste is not in our main range — supplied on request, composition confirmed first.

Our jar is a spreadable pistachiocream: a retail product for the breakfast shelf, not a working ingredient. Two aisles under one word: name which you mean in the first email. See pistachio.

Ukrainian labelling, one container, and what to send us

Ukraine is in neither the European Union nor the Eurasian Economic Union: the importer files the declaration and answers for compliance with Ukrainian food legislation. Label text is Ukrainian. From our side travel our technical specification, ingredients and allergens, net weight, batch analysis report and the tariff heading. On duty, the quote states what applies on the day it is issued.

We sell by the full container or full truck — each line on its own pallet, one packing list, one movement document — so six or seven lines share a mixed container. Minimums are set per line not per container. Chocolate lines travel at +18/+20 °C, refrigerated in the warm months; with a dry container the temperature risk passes to the buyer in writing before loading. Send the lines, rough quantity per line, bulk or sales box, your label or ours, the port and the window — the answer comes back in two business days, in writing. More at Ukraine.

Do you supply baklava to Ukraine?

It is not in our main range. It can be supplied on request, and in that case we confirm the composition and the format before issuing a quote rather than after it.

Is the pistachio jar the same as the paste confectioners buy by the kilo?

No. Our jar is a spreadable pistachio cream for the retail shelf. The 100% pastry paste is a different product, not in our main range, and supplied only on request with the composition confirmed.

Can a first order carry several lines rather than one?

Yes. The sales unit is a full container or full truck, but the minimum is set per line, so a first order can carry six or seven lines in measured quantities, each on itsown pallet.

How to order

Send the list. We do the rest.

Send your product list with approximate quantities and the destination port. You get one offer covering every line, then one container, loaded and photographed before the doors close.
