The name on the pack belongs to the importer
The pack carries the product name, the ingredients, the allergens, the net quantity, the storage conditions, the durability marking and the operator responsible for the food information. That last entry belongs to the company placing the goods on the Ukrainian market — your side. A Gaziantep manufacturer makes the line and an exporter consolidates it; neither stands in that field instead of you.
This is not a job for after the container sails: artwork is approved before the print run, and the print run comes before production. Raised at quotation stage it costs a few days of drafting; raised later, a relabelling job.
What leaves the supplier side
Line by line we send the manufacturer's technical specification, the ingredients and allergens, the net weight, and the batch analysis report for the lot actually loaded. With the goods travel the commercial invoice, a packing list built pallet by pallet, and the customs tariff heading proposed for each item. Copies of our food safety, halal and kosher certificates go into the file.
Those certificates are issued for our factory, for that plant and those lines. Copies are available on request; nothing is reissued under a trading company's name.
What stays on the importer's side
The declaration is yours. So is responsibility for the product complying with Ukrainian food legislation as presented, and so is drafting the Ukrainian label and approving it. We supply the source data; you decide how it reads on the pack and who signs it off. The two sides work in parallel: a specification does nothing until someone turns it into label text.
Duty sits in the same place. The quotation states what applies on the day it is issued, and your broker confirms it against the tariff heading before the goods move.
Check the product name before the print run
Two names cause most reprints. A coating made with vegetable fat rather than cocoa butter is a cocoa glaze, and an item covered in it cannot simply be called chocolate on the pack. The specification states which one each line carries, and the label follows it, not the sales description.
The second is the jar. What we supply is a pistachio spread — a spreadable cream for the retail shelf, not the 100% pistachio paste confectioners buy by the kilo, though buyers often search using the word paste. That grade is not in the main range; it can be sourced on request, with composition and format confirmed first.
Private label, and how a mixed container multiplies the work
On private label the pack and the label content change, so the text is built from our technical specification and returned to you. Nothing goes to print without written approval — not artwork, not an ingredient line, not a claim. Selected lines only, each confirmed by us.
In a mixed container the labelling work multiplies by line, not by container. Each line travels on its own pallet under a single packing list, and the minimum is set per line and written into the quotation, not per container. So a first order can carry several items in measured quantities, each with its own correct Ukrainian pack.
Temperature, and what to send us
Chocolate and chocolate-coated items travel under a controlled temperature regime. In the hot months a refrigerated container is quoted; if a dry container is preferred, the temperature risk passes to the buyer in writing, before loading. Turkish delight, sugared almonds and jelly sweets go dry all year. Fix that choice alongside the artwork.
Then send the lines you want, the pack format for each, whether the goods carry your brand or ours, the destination city, and any label template you already use. We reply in writing within two working days: specification, ingredients and allergens, net weight, carton and pallet data, minimum per line and the tariff heading, item by item. Your label text and your declaration are built from that file.
Which language does the label have to be in?
Ukrainian. The mandatory information appears on the pack in Ukrainian, and it is drafted and approved on the importer's side from our technical specification we supply.
Can the certificates be issued in our company's name?
No. Food safety, halal and kosher certificates are issued for our factory and its lines. We state line by line who holds what and pass copies through with the offer file.
Is the pistachio jar the same thing as pistachio paste?
No. The jar is a spreadable cream for retail. The 100% confectionery paste sold by the kilo is a different grade, not in the main range; it can be sourced on request once the manufacturer confirms composition and format.
