Chocolate box Egypt: the gift trade, what it buys by the carton, and the container behind it

Egypt gives chocolate in boxes, at the wedding, the engagement, the sebou of a newborn and the Eid visit, and the searches show a trade that dresses those boxes all year. Here is what that trade buys by the carton, and how the cartons reach it from Gaziantep. Each colour is a production run, so the minimum counts per colour; the palette is worth settling before the first price is asked for.

The occasions

A wedding sends its guests home with a box; an engagement does the same; the seventh day after a birth fills bags and boxes with sweets and chocolate for everyone who visits; Eid puts an assortment on the table next to the kahk. The chocolate shops and the box dressers that serve those occasions make some of what goes in the box and buy the rest: boxed assortments and mini bars, sugared almonds by colour, chocolate dragées in milk, dark and white, and coated almonds and hazelnuts. The chocolate page and the dragée page list the groups.

By colour, by the carton

Sugared almonds come one colour per carton or mixed, in the whites, ivories, golds, blues and pinks the occasion trade asks for; chocolate dragées and coated nuts in a matching range; boxed assortments by the case. The case weight per line is stated in the offer, so a box dresser knows how many boxes a carton fills before it orders, and the colours can be run to your own palette on selected lines under the private label page, with the cartons carrying your name.

The chain

A shop or a box dresser buys by the carton from a wholesaler or an importer; the importer brings the container into Alexandria, Port Said or Damietta under the free trade paperwork. That is the link we quote: a food importer or a wholesale house filling one mixed container from Gaziantep, each line on its own pallet, with the Arabic label and the registration settled before the deposit. A large box house that uses dragées and assortments by the tonne fills a container on its own and is quoted like an importer; a smaller one pools an order with others.

Dry or reefer, and the price

Sugared almonds, jellies and Turkish delight travel dry all year; boxed assortments, chocolate dragées and coated nuts go in the reefer, year round on this route. The price per line in US dollars, the case count, the pallet plan and the tariff line are in the offer, with what applies under the free trade agreement on the day; nothing that moves with the exchange rate or the season is printed on this site. What a shop sells the dressed box for is its own craft.

What to send first

The lines from the chocolate page, the dragée page and the Turkish delight page, the quantity per line, the port, Alexandria, Port Said or Damietta, and whether any line carries your own brand. The written offer follows within two working days, in US dollars, with the registration named per line; the samples page explains how to taste the lines first, and the Egypt page lists what stays the same on every offer.

Can a chocolate shop or a box dresser buy directly from Türkiye?

The unit of sale is one full container. A house that fills one is quoted like an importer; a smaller one buys by the carton from the importer that brings it in, or pools an order with others.

Can the dragées come in our colours and our boxes?

Yes, on selected lines: we run the colours you name and the cartons or boxes carry your brand. The minimum per colour is stated in the offer.

Do sugared almonds need a reefer?

No, they travel dry all year. Boxed assortments and chocolate dragées travel in the reefer, year round on this route.
