The bar
A thick milk chocolate shell filled with pistachio cream and toasted kadayif, the shredded pastry Egypt knows from its own kunafa, which is why Egypt searches for it as kunafa pistachio chocolate as often as Dubai chocolate. The name comes from the city where it went viral; the filling comes from further north. Pistachio is grown around Gaziantep and kadayif is made there in the same streets, which is why we were making pistachio and kadayif fillings long before the bar had a name, and why the bar is now made there in retail, gift and catering formats.
Made in Egypt, filled from Gaziantep
The searches for Egyptian pistachio chocolate show a country that makes its own bar, in Cairo’s chocolate shops and a few factories, and what those makers need in quantity is the pistachio cream and the kadayif filling, because the pistachio is not grown in Egypt in that quantity and the filling is a producer’s job. We quote the cream in jars and pails and the filling in bulk from the same factory that fills the retail bar; the pistachio page lists the formats.
The price question
For a shopper the price is set by the shop; for an importer or a maker it is in the offer: the price per bar or per kilo of filling in US dollars, the case count, the pallet plan, the tariff line and what applies under the free trade agreement on the day. Nothing that changes with the exchange rate or the season is printed on this site. A bar that lands by the pallet is a different product, at a different price, from a bar made by hand in a shop, and Egypt has room for both.
What the Egyptian entry needs
Arabic on the label with the ingredient list and allergens, net weight and the importer’s name, and the production and expiry dates printed on the pack in production; the advance cargo information filed by the importer before loading; the registration the line needs, stated per line in the offer; and a reefer in every season. The Egypt page lists what stays the same on every offer.
Under whose name
In our standard packs from the first container, or under your own brand: the Egyptian private label page goes through the formats, the Arabic label content, the registration and the artwork approval. A shop that wants its own name on a bar it does not have to make itself has a producer for it; a shop that wants to keep making its own has a supplier for the filling.
What to send first
The lines from the chocolate page, the dragée page and the Turkish delight page, the quantity per line, the port, Alexandria, Port Said or Damietta, and whether any line carries your own brand. The written offer follows within two working days, in US dollars, with the registration named per line; the samples page explains how to taste the lines first, and the Egypt page lists what stays the same on every offer.
Is Dubai chocolate made in Dubai?
The name comes from where it went viral. The pistachio and the kadayif come from around Gaziantep; the bars and fillings we quote are made there, and Egypt’s own makers buy the filling.
Do you sell the filling on its own?
Yes: pistachio cream in jars and pails, and the kadayif filling, from us, in the formats the offer states.
Does the bar need a reefer?
Yes, year round on this route; the offer states the term.
