Dubai-style pistachio and kadayif bar: what a Hungarian buyer actually checks

Dubai csoki is a search term of its own in Hungary, and the results answer two people at once: shoppers hunting for a finished bar, and home cooks hunting for a recipe. If you are filling a shelf rather than a mixing bowl, three questions decide the line: what is inside the bar, whether the coating is chocolate or cocoa glaze, and how the pallet survives August.

Home  /  Blog  /  What a Hungarian wholesale buyer checks before ordering a pistachio and kadayif Dubai-style bar: the filling, the coating, and the summer transit.  ·

One search term, two audiences

That split is useful. Shops list the bar as a finished item while recipe pages explain how to build one at home, so the flavour is already recognised: a consistent bar meets an audience that is looking for it.

The import picture points the same way. Hungary imported 588.1 million dollars of chocolate in 2025; Turkey ranked 11th with 1.42 percent, a small share, but at 14.96 dollars per kilogram the highest kilogram value among the leading suppliers, ahead of Germany at 9.56, Poland at 8.82 and Slovakia at 7.50. Turkish goods arrive as filled, worked items, not plain mass.

What is inside the bar

Two components make it: a pistachio cream and roasted kadayif, the fine shredded pastry that gives the crunch. Both come from Gaziantep. That is not a marketing line but the reason the bar is a standing item in our factory rather than a one-off project: the same city supplies the pistachio and the kadayif those confectioners buy anyway, so the specification repeats next season.

The pistachio percentage differs by line and is stated in the offer for each one, never as a blanket figure. Ask for the technical specification with it: how the kadayif is roasted, and how much moisture the cream carries, decides whether the crunch survives storage.

Chocolate or cocoa glaze, and why the label cares

Settle this early. A coating built on vegetable fats instead of cocoa butter cannot be labelled as chocolate in the EU. Both exist in this category, both can be made well, and they sit at different prices. What is not acceptable is finding out after the wrapper is printed.

So the offer and the technical specification say, for every line, which of the two it is. If your wrapper carries the word chocolate, the coating has to earn it. On private label that matters twice: we build the label text from our product specification, and nothing goes to print without your written approval.

How it travels in a Hungarian summer

Chocolate and chocolate-coated lines travel at +18 to +20 degrees. In the hot months we offer a refrigerated container. If a dry container is preferred instead, the temperature risk passes to you in writing before loading, so nobody discovers the disagreement at unloading. Turkish delight, sugared almonds and jelly lines are unaffected and go dry all year.

One decision shapes the season plan: load ahead of the heat, pay for the reefer, or accept the written risk. The offer records which.

The same flavour in a jar, and your name on it

The profile also exists in a jar, searched for as a paszta. That word needs correcting before an order: what we sell is a spreadable pistachio cream for the retail shelf, not a 100 percent pastry paste for professional use. Bar and jar usually travel on one mixed container, since they speak to the same shopper.

The recipe half of that audience is often a pastry kitchen, which tends to ask for couverture next. Couverture is not in our main range; it is sourced on request, with composition and format confirmed first.

What to send us

Send the lines you want, the retail format, whether the coating must be chocolate rather than a glaze, whether the jar joins, whether it is your label or ours, and the month the goods should arrive, which tells us whether to quote a reefer.

The sales unit is a full container or full truck; there is no groupage. Minimums are per line, written into the offer rather than per container, so a first order can carry six or seven items in measuredquantities, each on its own pallet under one packing list. Hungary is in the EU, so goods move under an A.TR movement certificate; the offer states what applies on the day. Payment is 50 percent at order and 50 percent before the container leaves, against loading photographs. The offer itself follows in two working days.

Is the coating on the Dubai-style bar real chocolate?

It depends on the line, which is why we put it in writing. A coating whose fat is a vegetable fat other than cocoa butter cannot be labelled as chocolate in the EU. The offer and the technical specification name which of the two the line uses, before any artwork goes to print.

Can the bar and the pistachio jar travel in the same container?

Yes. The sales unit is a full container or a full truck, and minimums are per line rather than per container, so several items can travel together. Each line sits on its own pallet, under a single packing list and a single movement certificate.

What happens if we want a summer delivery?

Chocolate and chocolate-coated lines travel at +18 to +20 degrees, so a refrigerated container is offered for the hot months. If a dry container is preferred, the temperature risk passes to the buyer in writing before loading. Turkish delight, sugared almonds and jelly lines go dry all year.

How to order

Send the list. We do the rest.

Send your product list with approximate quantities and the destination port. You get one offer covering every line, then one container, loaded and photographed before the doors close.
